| On paper this looks like being a close game.
We have Rangi back and its rumoured shenton trained this week so he may be ok to play?, Wigan have a few injuries and the replacements at halfback don't as yet look the same quality as Finch/Leulaui.
Hopefully our players will keep up the enthusiasm in attack as they did last week and won't sit back and leave all the prompting to Chase.
Whatever the result hope they continue the improvements.

| I really feel for the players tonight they showed real battling character...scoring some quality tries in the process...very proud of their efforts today.
However i get the feeling we were never going to be allowed to win that game once it got to 22 all. On the lead up to the Chase drop goal (which hit the post,we recovered the ball but got pulled for offside) The ref (The French stick dressed as a Battenberg cake) missed two high tackles on Daryl Clark ...within sight of the posts.
Also on the lead up to Wigan's winning try he wiped the tackle count clean on the drop kick charge down...i thought that ruling has changed for this season?

I think it was trialled during the preseason games but they didn't change it for Super League.

Some refs have been wiping it, others haven't.
What do you know, the fools don't know the rules themselves.

| Given their reaction after the final try, the Goons knew damn well they dodged a bullet today. They were a mile offside at our DG attempt resulting in a Tomkins knock on, yet they get given a penalty. Thierry was down to his usual standard all day - for both teams - but every second of that crucial last few minutes went their way. Jammy, jammy gets.
The boys were very, very unlucky to lose and I'm proud of the effort they put in.

| Swings and roundabouts...Blake Green had a perfectly good score ruled out at 22-4 (may have been 22-10, can't quite remember) for a knock on when he clearly grounded the ball (was stood ten yards away behind the posts).
He was abysmal for both sides today although I think Wigan lost the penalty count. He was bad enough for both to have had no bearing on the result which was a fair one.
Cas look a much improved team this year though with that left side a real handful. Webster and Carney are as big as forwards and will cause all teams problems.

| The ref looked un-fit and couldn't keep up with the speed of the game. Bad for both teams IMO. Another good performance from Cas Tigers though.

| I am not a Castleford supporter but after watching the highlights on SLTV I just want to congratulate Castleford on their performance against Wigan. Very impressive.
You have some very potent attacking options, and Justin Carney and Jake Webster will cause problems for most teams this year. Those two were awesome. Carney showed up the fancied Josh Charnley three times in my viewing, resulting in three tries. As I have written in the Virtual Terrace board, he has shown that Charnley cannot defend England's line. Good thing that people have found that out now, rather than in the World Cup.
Lots of other players looked good. Tansey's attack was good (his defence a bit suspect) and I liked the look of your second rowers. I think that the try by Jamie Ellis was the try of the round, though Webster's and one of Carney's were not far behind.
Very entertaining team. They are being prepared by a very good coach.

| Thanks for that Jean C.
We are doing OK at the moment. Another player to look our for this year for Cas Tigers in Daz Clark - he was great against Wigan and caused them no end of problems, made over 50 tackles as well.

| I can't remember what made me watch the highlights of Cas vs Wigan, because I usually only watch the highlights of the games of Catalans and London. But I enjoyed the Cas tries against Wigan so much that I will be watching your highlights every week now.
