| I wander if the Cas board have explored moving to NM and would it make sence.
Would the rent we pay be the same as Wakefields? If is is then sell WR and invest in the team! and reap the rewards from increased attendance on match days that a succesful team would bring.
A bold move but this would surely secure a SL future for the club.

| I'm looking forward to seeing how this thread develops.
It would be a huge shift of direction.

| Once the stadium starts, then the met might want Cas on board, but it need plans architects & a start date until that happens it's still only a peace of paper just like we have & until full funding is guaranteed it wont get started

| No, it hasn't been explored and nor will the BoD explore it.
And no, it wouldn't make sense. I'd rather own my own stadium than be renting one.

| A definate NO for me as most of you will allready know. At the recent Civic Centre meeting a quick show of hands revealed about 90% in favour of staying at Wheldon Road so the answer might be something similar - granted, the fans attending the meeting weren't casual fans - most were diehards.
Pesonally I would rather watch CT in a lower division than move away from the Castleford area I wouldn't be suprised if most were of a likewise feeling.
What I am certain of is A) a move to NM would result in our demise within 2 seasons and B) Wakey and their supporters are getting increasingly more desparate to get us on board. I wonder why ?

Why?
I don't see what the benefits are, I can accept that it gives you some clout with the bank if you need credit/overdrafts etc but little else.
Take your copper theft, that is going to be a cost to you if you rented it would be the landlords cost and up to them to sort out the replacement and future security of any replacement, just as a topical aside.

Because the rent is likely going to be more expense than owning our own stadium? As you said in the post above, the owners will have to make money some how to pay the bills and also any upkeep too. Therefore, the money they get in from rent also has to be worthwhile.
I've no idea how much we spend on maintenance of WR per season but I'd hazard a guess that it isn't as much as it would be in paying rent?

Not that I am aware of.
Personally I always thought it made sense with NM being located where it was.
Tricky was so 100000000000000% against it though and therefore so were the cas flock, after all he promised so much.
TBH I think you have gone too far to oppose the idea of sharing for it to come off, but it is a community stadium.
I would worry it could be the end of two SL teams in the district though.

So you are completely against it on a hunch then?
