What a cracking signing he was, up there with Brendan Hlad (remember him?!)

I hope we (Batley) can keep him until the end of the season, as he's done a pretty decent job for us. However, whoever deemed him worthy of a SL contract must have been on some kind of mind-altering drug at the time.

I believe that would be Ian Millward, who also deemed Steve Nash good enough for Super League (he's now back at Leigh on loan, unless his time there has finished).

He was recommended to the club by Dale Fritz and Cas offered him a deal to see what he could do. It was never made as a major signing - more a let's see what you can do contract.

From his Twitter feed, my impression he's leaving for Aus today.

The Nash signing was very strange. I'd seen him play on numerous occasions and was staggered when Millward took him to Cas. He was very, very average at Championship level.

Millward is signing another of his Leigh lads next season. Jamie Ellis from Hull. He is an overweight scrum half who is out of his depth in Super league. Infact a bit like Millward.

There's some attempted insults with swear filter modified profanities...quite bizarre really given the subject of the thread. Oh and that Jimmy Grehan, a player who didn't do anything on trial with Leigh and got released by Cas (after being on loan at Batley) has signed for St George, one of the best teams in the NRL...if that's the case good luck to the lad.
