Onto week/round 2, how do we think this one will go ?
Poor showing for the Bulls against a strong Catalan team, with maybe a couple more players set to return against us (on there day they can still play) !
Do we stick to the same team ? can we maintain the intensity shown at Salford as we did at the start of last season ?

Result - Tigers 30 Bulls 20
First try - Dixon
Mom - Clark
Attendance - 8000

I thought Nash went quite well and I believe Basil said that Jacko will be 2 to 3 weeks before he's fit for selection.

If fit yes !

However well i thought McGoldrick and Griffin played at Salford (and they did play well) - both on the same side of the field in defence worry me. Didnt feel Salford threw too much at them, they will get found out at some point i feel. Will Grehan/Youngquest be the answer when fit (how good will Grehan be ?)and if so where does Goldy in particular fit in - wouldnt disrupt the forwards (he is a back) and Owen deserves his shot at full back (time will tell if he can link into the line and be a ball playing threat as well as a finisher). Goldy is too dangerous a player to leave out but i believe in a hooker and three forwards on the bench and i wouldnt drop Clark for anyone ???
Good position to be in - wish we had the same (look forward to the being in the same position) at prop.

I thought Nash although promising had a touch of Andy Baily about him, a little bit upright and possibly a small change in technique might help, but still very green at this level, cetainly didnt look out of his depth and without any other props coming back to the squad this week - he plays.

I have to admit, even given the opposition I was surprised by the general level of discipline from Goldy at centre. Probably needs games to work out with the back rowers inside him when he is going to come in to tackle and when not, I do think a better side - Bulls - would have had their half wrapping round more, with an over and an under line runner and testing the discipline of the channel, I know I would.

To be honest, the only decision would seem to be Goldy/Griffin or Jordan Thompson for one of those two - no reason to chnage anything. If there are any knocks, then that brings Raz into the reconing. I think Bradford will be a sterner test but certainly not one we should fear. They flatter to deceive often, so if we stay with them, make few mistakes, they need to prove themselves more than we do.

Good point, I dont think snow is the risk, that is relatively easily remedied - but I can see ice being a serious concern depending on the mid-term forecast.

This is defo a win able game for sure. From reading on the Bulls forum it seemed they struggled with catalans quick play of the ball and hendersen had a field day making easy yards. This is one area we can be really strong in with having the pace of milner and clark we can really hurt them I believe. From what i remember of the bulls last year there a big team so lets get them moving about and tire there forwards out, 30-18 to us icon_smile.gif

I wonder if thr Rfl will be sending out promotional emails out about the Bulls match this week.Read a letter in the League Express today from a lady in Keighley saying she had recieved an email from the rfl offering reduced rates for the Bradford game against Catalan. Now tell me the RFL are playing fair it stinks.

But it will be a very short conversation considering how much they know about the game
