| If thats the case I would hope you already have discussions going with him about the next stage of his career, however if you can't get a deal maybe a transfer might be an option. At least that way you will have money and time on your side when your recruiting for 2011.
The Brough deal hurt at the time but now i know we have a plan in mind, and have had for some time, i can see why a transfer was a better option than waiting for a contract to run out.
Personally i always thought he would end up at Leeds (unless his gf said otherwise eh Wakey fans )

| Dislocated his fingers today by the looks of it. Although he came back on. Played pretty well
Hope we tie him up and soon. Although the current form of the team will probably not sway his decision to stay our way

I think the only way he will stop is if we have a change of coach.

| It's called business sense.
Both our clubs run on a shoe string, and will continue to do so until we move grounds, yet one club consistently out performs the other?
Why i hear you ask? Because one has astute business management on the limited funds and coaching that commands more from the players than their perceived ability suggests, while the other, well you tell me.......
All that from the lesser "selling club".... IMO business management and inspiring coaching wouldn't go a miss at CT ATM, am I wrong? please correct me if I am wrong.

| I hope we (Saints) are after him, I rate him very highly. Whether we would be willing to splash Gidley's wages on him is another thing, especially with a new stadium on the way and a lot of revenue going towards it.

| In my opinion it is absolutely vital that we retain our international standard home-grown players.
The club need to show some committment to the future, or they will find that the paying fans will not!

| Shenny could have gone last time but stayed, i wouldnt blame him if he walked away from the club this time im sure he was cajoled and told a few things that havent come to fruition to resign, this time he will be a little wiser and definately more ambitious than the club, if he does go watch Owen and west cos they will be gone quicker than a quick thing from quickshire, whos just beaten Usain Bolt.

| I'd be gutted if he left. He's one of the few glimmers of hope for Cas fans at the moment. At the same time though I don't think could begrudge him taking an opportunity to further his career.

| I wouldnt be suprised if he left. Would love him to stay but i just can't see it happening
If I was Matterson or Wright, SHenny, Westy, Owen and Thompson would be the first set of players i would tie in to long term contracts. They are our future and without them we don't have much.
There would also be a good 6 or 7 i would offload too

| My eldest boy will be six in a few weeks. He wants the new away shirt with number 3 on the back.
He totally idolises Shenny - posters, pictures, meeting him after games and on Sports Relief day, even calling himself Michael Shenton for a few weeks last year !
It's lads like Shenton, Owen, Huby and Westerman - local boys making it into the team and in with a shout of England honours - that inspire the youngsters to take up the sport, support the team and aspire to play at the level they do. Without this lead from these lads, we run the risk of losing that vital spark which can give the youngsters inspiration and aspiration.
The Boy would be gutted if Shenny left. As would I. That goes for any of the other lads I've mentioned. But we can't blame them, given the current form and the shaky ground we stand on regarding the licence. They can't be blamed for wanting security, a decent wage and a chance of silverware - none of which seem currently achievable at Cas.
For the first time in a fair few years I fear for the future of this club. I can see us missing out on a licence next time around and spending at least 6 years in the national leagues. That's not, in my opinion, where we belong or what we deserve after the years of faith and support we've invested in this club.
