| I don't for 1 second think he was rested tonight. Probably thinking too much into it but maybe he is injured again and Matterson's been told to tell the rl world he's resting him, so Cas fans don't turn round and say, "well if he's out for a while, why bother going?" or "I told you so".....Probably reading too much into it, would like to be proved wrong by Sherwin playing next week and us winning

| As i put in the "Away to Bradford" thread Shifty wrote on Facebook last night that he wasn't being rested he is slightly injured but will be back next week. He was annoyed that Eddie and Stevo were saying he was being rested

This is really poor by the club I had tolisten to the Sky Sports idiots for 80 minutes pushing out that he had been rested by TM.
Tactics are part of the game but given what was put out to the media pre match I thought it was a very poor move to rest him, correct me if Ui am wropng but he gets paid to play rugby not sit in the stand thats what we do!
If hes injured thats the reson but I think the club could have managed this better.

| He may have been able to play but if he's got a slight injury then they may be resting him to allow it to heal and not to aggravate it.
Maybe?

| Yes but due to injury. Not we're "resting" Sherwin because he's tired.

| Got to admit, the line of 'being rested' was very lame. It was like saying he was over th hill, or the Cas fitness team had not prepared him properly before or after the game etc. The suggestion on SKY was that he could barely walk until Wednesday suggesting it was just post match stiffness and aching etc. Why didn't TM just say that Shirwin had a minor injury, but should be back in a week or two.
I hope that he is back soon because we need his kicking game, and we haven't had our money's worth out of him yet due to injuries.

He did. Waldorf and Staedtler went with their own fantasy though.

Good question, short term Ben Black would be a good option, but doubt Halifax wouldnt let him go.
Long term, with the money we are alleged to be paying Sherwin we could get sombody younger and with rep honours,
if he is from Australia.Or....
Brierley will have bulked up and is ready

| You don't understand? If we got rid of Sherwin from his contract now, we'd still have to pay him for the season then there's no way we'd have the money to pay someone "good" to play. RB in my opinion isn't ready yet for SL. Only possible option is to get someone on loan who aint cutting it in a starting SL side, who? I have no idea.

My grannies right T!T mate, its about as much use. TBF ive defended him time and time again, Cant any longer ive had enough. he's too old and needs to go, get rid, we got to pay no matter what i know but i would bring a young one through, cant be worse then "Tampax Sherwin" one week in three out FFS
What his stats Gaz how many has he played v what he could have played,

We know we will have to pay for him, but while he doesnt play, we are paying anyway, who we got for next season ? who can we attract if we keep playing without a good fit 7 ?
It p!sses me off that we are reliant on a has been, he was good in his day, but his day is as far away as my 18th, (dont go there)
S4AM i apologise unreservedly, you were right all along

| We are stuck with Shifty we all know, regardless if he is fit or not.Trying to think beyond this season.
But this year with not much money it can only be a national league player,or an N.R.L reserve grader with a european passport with a point to prove.
No super league club will loan us their half-backs given the competition in the league now, (we got lucky with Danny Brough
in 06 as Hull were flying in the league that year).
Black imo would be a good choice from the national league, even Thorman and Rooney would be good back ups compaired
to the one halfback at Bradford
