I feel I have to come on here and complain about a section of your fans at tonights game. I do not tar you all with the same brush. I was actually sat with a friend who is a cas fan and he looked embarrassed by the fans behaviour. I sat in our family stand this evening partly for cover but mainly to ensure my 4 year old son could a) see and b) nit be subjected to bad language. Instead a group of your fans decided they would come up and proceed to stand for much of the game. When asked politely if they would mind sitting so that my son could see all I got was abuse. They continued this throughout the game and in fact got worse. They seemed to delight in the fact that this not only annoyed me but frightened my son. They ignored and taunted stewards knowing full well that they outnumbered them and there was little they could do. We told one of them they were out of order as this was the family stand and his answer was "we don't give a f***". I feel very sorry for the good people of castleford that you have a section of such dispicable supporters that would make a 4 year old firghtened in the family stand at his own ground.

While i sympathise with you, posting on here will not do anything about it unfortunatly. The problem imo, (from your description alone) is that of the Salford club. If you can't sit in your own family stand because your stewards are outnumbered by idiots then the club needs to get their act together. You should have been able to speak to a steward and have the matter sorted and not have to put up with idiots. I'll not apologise for the actions of the idiots because they don't deserve it. I hope you and your little un never have to put up with that again. Clubs need to get on top of these problems before they get worse or drive families away from the game.

Sorry you had to be subjected to this. Every team has a group of them. I don't see what posting this on here will do though. You should report this incident to your club and see what they can do to resolve problems like this and if they ever happen again.

Maybe you'd be better served directing your complaint to somebody who's duty it is to deal with these issues.

Greater Manchester dibble, Salford RLFC, stewards ect.

Sorry for you and your lads trouble, but I don't understand the reason for complaining to a group of fans on an internet forum.

Every club has s, that'll never change.

I agree and I did complain to the individual steward and will be directing a complaint to Salford first thing in the morning. As you can imagine I am extremely angry and I needed to get it off my chest. I know all clubs have them and I won't deny we have our fair share, the difference being that ours don't stand in a family stand and intimidate a four year old. I have pointed out on our own forum that the stewarding is ineffective but like I say I just needed to vent.

No need to call them all Yorkshire muppets, and saying "that's yorkshire for you" on your board. icon_rolleyes.gif Every club has them.

Well if it makes you feel better. icon_cool.gif

But you seriously need to contact your club about this and prevent this type of thing happening again to you or any other fan that comes to your ground. As long as there are lone stewards then the idiots will always win and people like you, me and our kids will have to put up with them. So we need to let our clubs know that this isn't acceptable and if it continues (and they do naff all about it) then we'll be on our bike and they'll be left with the few idiots.

Couldn't agree more with this. when I was a kid if fans misbehaved the true rugby league supporters would throw them out themselves (whichever team they were from) without need for stewards. Maybe we all need to take some resposibility and eliminate these muppets from our clubs before they give us all a bad name. I've spent my life feeling superior to football because our game is so friendly. I want my son to grow up with the same. Those who have replied appear to fall into the same group as the friend I was sat with. Good honest fans who go to watch the games and not to cause trouble so I apologise for the Yorkshire muppets comment on out forum to you. Although the group who were in front of me were from yorkshire and were muppets so I stand by it with regard to them icon_wink.gif

You need to get a grip Christines mum,i thought the Cas fans made a great atmosphere considering the expense and time it probably took them to get here from W.Yorks. The family stand was probably 35% at capacity tonight if that.

You dont get a desegnated seat number when you enter the stand,if a few vibrant. passionate, diehard fans (sounds like something we need) ruffle your feathers, then move....

It's so easy....

Better still.just go the 3pm k.o's when it's better suited for 4 year olds.

No wonder 'rugby fans' get peeved off with 'tyrant typers'.

Well Done Cas,good luck in the play offs...

You're not kidding. Had to work in Wolverhampton today and got away at 3pm. The traffic was shocking because for some reason 90% of drivers seem unable to control their vehicles when a bit of rain falls from the sky and as a result, all the radio stations decide the conditions are treacherous. I got to Cas at 6.30pm to pick up my Granddad who always travels to away matches with me and after gobbling down my tea (which he and my nan had kindly prepared for me), we were on our way along the still treacherous M62 (puhleeeeeease) wondering how the hell we'd make it in time. After legally abandoning the car somewhere we walked into the ground at 8.03pm which wasn't a particularly bad effort I thought.

Anyway I'm sure there were many others who struggled tonight but still made it and injected a fair amount of money into Salford's coffers. There was plenty of space so people could happily move around if they weren't comfortable where they were. You have to wonder though how wise it is to designate a stand where the majority of visiting fans congregate as the family stand. At the end of the day, people can moan all they like on here but there is absolutely NOTHING we can do about it. That, I'm afraid is down to the stewarding and management at individual Rugby League grounds.

To die of thirst we have no fear. As long as we get Holts' beer!!!!:39789.jpg

The truth is that the stewards were hamstrung by the fact that they have no power to actually remove supporters fromthe ground. If they try to physically remove someone no doubt a law suit would ensue in todays litigation crazy World. I for one will be making this point to our club and suggesting that some sort of police presence is needed. Sad I know but if that's how we make sure the yobs stay in control then so be it.

As for the family stand.... yes it is poorly located and we do accept that there will be some colourful language from the terraced area in front, but it was fine when we were in that stand for the Warrington game. The issue was that the abuse was directed specifically at the Salford fans in there and not just the odd bit of bad langauage that you get at games.

As for difficult journey... I live on the Wirral and trekked 45 miles for a home game via Manchester airport to actually pick up my friend FROM CAS who was about to go on holiday and was taking in the game first. I then dropped him back to his hotel on way home (another 45 miles). Isn't that the kind of camaraderie we want in RL.

KICK OUT THE YOBS from ALL clubs

in sympathy with chrismum regarding the young one being present among the idiotic minority, what went on in the small club next to the ground was beyond belief, some of the home supporters went to the extreme and really let down the salford club. there was youngsters present there also and they do not want to be seeing those kind of scenes that took place.

Could have been worse, they could have thrown bottles onto the field and surrounded the refs changing room with irrate punters, where have we heard this before? icon_lol.gif
Absolutely no need for abuse at rugby, there should be zero tollerance of it,kick 'em out as it starts!!
