| Definitely not in Justin Morgan territory but TM could be in a little trouble rlfor thisrl

""At 10-6 we were on the front foot and back in the game. There was a high kick and they got in our way, no penalty.
"Last week, again, we got tackled in the air, no penalty. Two tackles later they get a penalty and go the other end of the field and score.
"I don't know if they know the rules. It is the third week in a row we have been absolutely jammed." '"
I wasn't at the game last night, but we were utterly stitched up by ref decisions in the FC and Leeds games, we had chances to win both, but some absolutely horrendous decisions by the man with the whistle certainly helped the opposition's cause.
Is it worth getting some money together and letting TM let rip on refs? When was the last time Ben Thaler reffed a KR match?

The last time was the shudds match when Justin told it how it is, to be fair the ref was very poor for both teams last night he looked well out of his depth

| Refereeing's a problem, no doubt about it. The standard of play might be getting better and better, but the same certainly can't be said of the officials. Yeah, yeah.. difficult job and all that, but Cas have been shafted by poor decisions three games in a row now - once or twice and you have to live with it, but it does stick in the throat when it's week after week after week. It certainly proves what b*llocks the theory of "levelling out over the season" is.
To my mind the problem seems to be that the pool of elite level referees is unfeasibly small. While the play itself has improved there seems to have been very little achieved in terms of raising standards, bringing on refs, widening the bottom of the pyramid, etc. If anything it's got worse, so we get the same old faces every week putting in the same old substandard performances. Not just for Cas - across the board.
The stated aim of franchising is to create parity between teams, but the consequence of levelling the field is that more and more games are/will be won or lost by smaller margins which makes a poor reffing decision a lot more than just 'one of those things'. One penalty is more and more likely to decide a game, so the refs need to get them right.

| After 3 games in a row when decisions have gone against us, I think he's allowed a bit of a rant.

| Terry has got every right to say what he's said. Every cas fan has been saying/thinking the same. We're just not getting the rub of the green lately and its so frustraiting! - Especially when you travel as away supporters and get forced into sub-standard viewing areas to see you team get absolutly murdered by a biased Referee. I cant fault the way the lads are playing, they've been brilliant. But they are constantly being let down by bad decisions

| The responsibility for the poor standard of ref's lays squarely on numpty cummins.......
Fast tracking young ref's is the main cause of the problem..... they don't have time to develop the subtleties of the game, how experienced players can 'old man' them etc.... the system of reffing in the lower leagues, yorkshire, pennine etc is where you learn how to ref...not on a pitch surrounded by other ref's ... telling you how to do the job.
The rule that no one over 34 years old can ref conference because they cannot make it to SL level is also why we are experiencing this low standard..........many excellent ref's who have hung up their playing boots have turned away from the game because they have no where to go apart from the lower league's....... this in turn has the long term effect of having little to no competition in the higher reaches of the grading system's as we are now seeing...............
When McCallum was in charge he got a lot of things wrong but the system he had in place for progression through the grades for referee's was one of the best and it meant you progressed on your skill and ability not because you were 21 and could run 100m in under 10 sec's...

| TBH, he never had a good game for either side. From our point of view he should have at least sin-binned your player who took Welham out with a high head shot off the ball, which was one of two that might have been seen as at least a sin-binning. He also allowed you a very generous ten (nearer 8 most of the time) which prevented us from getting any forward movement at times.
He got a few thing wrong in our favour as well, but all in all he was relatively consistant for both teams.

Yeah because a sin binning not given evens out a biased penalty count and a penalty try and a sin binning he bottled it out on?

| If TM got done for those comments, then the RFL is a bigger joke outfit than I thought they were already.

It was your indiscipline that caused the penalty count, your players tried to spoil a lot without the cleverness to get away with it.

| Cas were allowed to slow the ball down for periods of the game but then suddenly Hewer seemed to decide it was no longer allowed and pulled them up repeatedly.
Seemed to be constantly looking for a reason to give a penalty all of the time and while Cas were no angels, the amounts of penalties he gave against them was harsh.
Rovers should have put more points on the board in the first half as I thought we looked the better team - just not clinical enough. Cas came back well in the second period and the game could have gone either way but Hewers whistle prevented Cas keeping their momentum going.

I thought he had a poor game all round, obviously I look at it as a Rovers fan, but had we lost, I wouldn't have been happy either.
These officials need to be held accountable for their performances as much as the players, clubs, fans or anyone connected to the game.
Last night I saw a frustrated Shenton shouting at the touch judge, who looked about seventeen, "Are you watching the fooking game"?
When a player is that pi$$ed off, then you know something isn't right.
