I wonder if any Cas supporters can help me out. I am trying to name the Cas team (including subs) who played in the RL Championship Final of 1969 against Leeds.

are you sure frank fox was not actually called fred fox. I worked with an ex cas player (who played during the sixties) and he was definately fred. Seems a coincidence if not.

nope deffo Frank there is no Fred Fox listed in Lens book and he lists all first team players till 1986 with the exception of Tony Spears

i wonder if he goes by the name fred. He definately played during the sixties. I remember a story he told me about him being an unused sub in the challenge cup final. How, they were told to take a kiwi full back out as early as possible and how you could hear his jaw crack from the subs bench. Ouch!

FranK was sub in 1969 but they didn't use the subs then so he didn't play

he is definately our man then. I wonder why he calls himself fred. He has some great stories about cas at that time. Best one is how the coach at the time used to go over the road to the pub at half time. He said they were playing a team that was supposed to be a walk over and they knew the following week was a tough match so they took it easy. They went in at half time eighteen up. When the coach came back from the pub at half time he told them none of them were not going to be paid formnv trying!

possibly his Dad was called Frank as well my cousin does that, his Dad is also Peter but he uses his middle name of Lee
