I have been invited by one of the bidding architects to attend a meeting tomorrow to discuss the stadium. Does anyone have any (sensible) requirements they'd like to be put forward.
Sorry for late notice but only had confirmation & request today.

Designs for Castleford Tigers's new home will be put forward to club bosses next month.
The number of architects bidding for the stadium project has now been narrowed down to four from the 18 who originally made submissions

How about a sponsor wall, where everyday fans can buy a block. And players come out from a corner of the field preferably where the home fans congregate.

BigNige,

These are just a few thoughts off the top of my head.

I think a key element is (like someone has said on the Cas Forum) a bar very similar to the Harlequins model. along both Sidelines, and smaller versions each end. This obvoiusly will need controlling due to recent events regarding our fine!

This will generate increased revenue for the club. i clearly remember playing Leeds at home in the heat. 45mins queue for a beer! a massive loss of revenue with 11k+ gasping for a drink. Its imperitive that there are fast serving pumps pulling multiple drinks (Millenium stadium-esque)

Facilities need to be primarily targetted for us - the Rugby Club, however significant enough for "other" uses. Ladies toilets are a key area (say a 4:3 ratio with the Gentleman - Ladies being higher as they require more space - they dont stand up!) and so are disabled facilities
Corporate facilities to attract conferencing (M62/A1/M1 links)
A tip top media centre
The Stadia structure for concerts and events

Cas really needs to sell its self as an alternative venue for Corporate, Music Venue, etc.

Id like to see the Main stand hold 3000 + disabled facilities and Family area.

Kids would love to see a clear veiw of their Heros close up rather than on tip toes in the terraces

The main area of concern i can see is the away supporters.
Do you give them one end (like Wigan) or an entire side? poses a bit of thought due to the mass ranks of Leeds fans and both sets of Hull fans who tend to travel to Cas en-mass.

The stands need to be as steep as legally possible to generate atmosphere

The Kop end, Standing (Music concerts can use this end for their stage)

We have the parking,
We have the attraction of the "walk up" with Xscape
We have a Hotel
We have places to eat
We have perfect Road links

Stands/Bars should be named after our Legends.
Fans could "Buy a Brick/Block" on a dedicated wall or stand.

Road leading into the Ground:

New Wheldon Lane

I wish you all the best for your meeting and i hope its a success

I'm pretty sure it's certain it'll be all-seater.

I really hope not (though my 5 year old loved the Galpharm because he could sit down and see all the action).

I think the Fans Wall (or Walk) is a great idea - I'd certainly buy a brick for me and the kids and maybe for my late Grandads.

The only thing I really want is for the stands to be very, very close to the pitch as Wheldon Rd is now - want to be able to create an intimidating atmosphere for visiting teams.

I think thats a key point and really does make a difference - but we also need to take into consideration player safety. Inglis went through the Advertising sign in the Final

But i agree with your remark
