Just out of interest, have any of the above posters played any rugby at a decent level? I am a PE teacher and never have I once got up on a morning and thought, "I think I am going to go lower standards today", how many of you think that Owen gets up and thinks I am going to be "s@it" today? When a player is in form they do not give a flying proverbial about what fans think but clearly Owen is struggling for form at the moment so what do fans do....

He has been a class act in the past, he will come good again. Just look at what has happened with Seymour at Hull, can we not get off of his back and see the bigger picture?

Yes I have. both league and union. Having played union at yorkshire ameteur level and believe me there are players who think they are better than the club and he is one of them. He is only a couple of years younger than me and having seen him on boozy nights out also lifting his shirt up showing his amazing body :/ and saying 'do you know who I am???' to people. I think hes just bothered about his pay packet at the moment.
If fans are on your back you put that extra effort in to play better, not look lazy in warm ups and play poor at championship level.
Owen was a class act before his bad injury. Since his return hes lost his spark and I think he knows it as well.

It isn't about waking up and thinking I'll play badly. It's about not having your head in the right place to play rugby. Either because you think you are bigger than the team, because of some perceived injustice or something outside of rugby completely. This doesn't just go for rugby, it's true in any job.
Someone needs to sit Owen down and have words or the answer to the question "Do you know who I am?" will be "A nobody".

Owen is still a talented player, that doesn't just disappear, but he needs to get his head right and then his form will return.

Owen had a nightmare game last night , i watched Keighley last Sunday against Leigh , their full back that afternoon was far better .

I meantioned on the other thread about him warming tansey up against wigan.

was like watching a moody child having a strop.

I don't think his ego can take playing for Keighley (no offence to the cougars whatsoever)

I remember him having a very good game when we beat Huddersfield 13-6 away, in 2009. Other then that, you can count on an abacus his good games. Class act. Don't make me laugh.

Is it worth pointing out that you can count up to quite a lot on an abacus?

Balances out when you take into consideration he had a year with us in NL1. Plus I wanted to avoid the use of fingers due to the inevitable troll response.

I was at the game yesterday and it was obvious that he had no intrest in playing at the 'lower' level, he didn't even do the same warm up as the rest of the team and stood out like a sore thumb. I understand players have there own routine but this was a blatant im better that you statement as the other dual reg players did the warm up with the Keighley side. Showed him up for what he is.

OMG I came on here thinking I may be the first person to comment on Owens performance last night on Premier Sports.
For the record I'm not a Cas fan, but I did start showing an interest when rumour had it that Cas might be interested in Jimmy Watson from the Rhinos. I am a big fan of him (playing dual reg for Hunslet at the mo); but anyway it didn't or hasn't yet come off and may never happen anyway.

Anyway, I don't like Owen or anything about him, but to be fair, I have never met him either but just have this opinion of him.

Last night he was appalling! Missed a number of what would deemed to be 'bread and butter' catches for a full back and lots of other silly mistakes. His whole persona and body language really did look like he wasn't interested and you could almost read his thoughts being "What the heck am I doing here"?

Keighley are half the team they were last year and it showed. But if I was the manager of Keighley I would have serious doubts on playing him in that position again. It is sometimes quite hard to shine if you are playing at a lower level and you are not getting much ball. But what you would do, is all the basic thing correctly. If he doesn't get a shot again in this team then it could be curtains for him.

Owen did our teams junior presentation in the summer, he did a great job and the kids loved it. He had a mare last night but weve all had them games and i think he is just lacking some confidence
