| Rangi has been charged with a Grade B - Reckless tackle on Hardaker which carries a 1 to 2 game suspension.

| Should get away with it, outside factors influencing the case (i.e. Sky, McDermott) and an inconclusive video.
If he gets banned then Cas might as well not bother playing any more games this season because the RFL will be setting out the stall for the "we are corrupt, bent bar stewards" early this year.

| The biggest load of crap i have ever seen i have watched the DVD over and over, and at no time did Chases shoulder hit Weekaker on the chin as their coach says, one thing is for sure if he plays against the Aussies next week the Leeds club will have to make sure they have his dummy on hand.
This game we all love to watch is being ruined by the people who have no idea what they are doing, instead of sitting down looking for things what dont exist they should be out looking to promote the game.
But then again it was Leeds who went off crying, what more can a RL fan expect

| Look, I know the reactions have been a bit off from Leeds staff - but:
This has nothing at all to do with raised hands, intent or anything of the kind - the only question to be asked is "was contact with the head made" the answer is clearly yes eventually, therefore there is a charge and a disciplinary hearing.
That is fine. Without hyperbole and emotion, there is an active player protection mandate and contact with the head be it deliberate, reckless or accidental is still contact with the head. As i have cited elsewhere, I happen to think Sam Moa's shot on Julien Rinaldi last year was a blinder, but it was head contact and he got a ban.
On t'other forum I said he would get a ban and we wouldn't appeal and I stand by that - take out the emotion of the intent and the silly comments and it is fairly simple. I am not saying it is right, I am merely saying there has been some consistency in this area for a change.
Also, ask yourself if this had been Bailey on Shenton or Sinfield on Owen - I am pretty sure that you would still have been able to hear "off, off, off" chants echoing down Wheldon Road!!

| Well if he doesn't play on Saturday it will give Waldorf & Statler on the Sky team something to waffle on about other than the love in they'll be having with the Bulls and its iconic ground.

| There was no contact with the head if you have the DVD watch it again i have watched it over and over and can't see any head contact, whether the reactions from the fans are strong or not.
the ref thought it was fine and he is at the side of play, instead of the game reaching perfection, it's at the other end of the scale, it's getting pathetic, a player posts on twitter saying it's an elbow so the RFL charge a player, we can stop all this uncertainty by changing the rules to tig & pass

| If Rangi is to get a ban.... What are the options at half back?
Milner-Ellis?
Ellis-Clark?
Tansey-Ellis?
Orr( )-Ellis?
I'd be tempted to go with either the 1st two options...think it would be better leaving Tansey at full back, pointless moving to many players around like Matterson used to do.

| I am a Rhino fan and admit Cas deserved their victory with better completion and a lot less errors. The penalties we gave at the end of the game deserved to cost us.
However the 'tackle by Chase' deserves a ban. Both feet off the ground arm still swinging forward after Hardaker is going down, Hardaker knocked out cold, how can people say there was no head contact. The ref did not think it was fine or it would not have gone on report, (he was not sure). Brian Mc was very composed after the game and only said he wanted to see it again. There was no demanding this or that. The tackle reminded me of the one last year when chase broke the jaw of the Featherstone player.

Wrong, myth perpetuated by serial idiot Terry O'Connor.
Quote: illy "arm still swinging forward after Hardaker is going down'"
If by "swinging" you mean "lifting" then yes, it's this thing called momentum, it happens in the MAJORITY of hits.
Quote: illy "Hardaker knocked out cold, how can people say there was no head contact. '"
1. No he wasn't, the Sky highlights show him talking to Chase and he walked off the pitch.
2. Concussions occur when the brain impacts the inside of the skull so you don't need to make contact with the head to cause a concussion - whiplash can do it.
Quote: illy "The ref did not think it was fine or it would not have gone on report, (he was not sure).'"
Please learn the rules of the game before you start spouting stupid lines like this, putting an incident on report means the ref either
He also didn't need to talk about it the way he did; himself, O'Connor & Hardaker have made it a prejudiced case now and in a real court of law it would be thrown out straight away due to comments made by the mentioned people.
It was also nothing like the hit on Ropati, have a nice day and please learn the rules of the game.

Totally agree with this. Just watched it and there's just no need for Chase to do that! Players with a bit of courage about them would bend their back a little, dip the shoulder and try and dig into the ribs with a fair tackle! Chase' response said it all for me, quickly going to check on Hardaker's condition and feigning concern just to try and save his own skin, which seemed to have worked at the time. Horrible player.

Yeah "feign" concern
Also did you notice Hardaker STUMBLED into the tackle?
The amount of uneducated idiots on this forum no wonder the league can't get a sponsor with the fat controller running the game and fans that know nothing.

| Haha, Chase is one of those players who, if he didn't play for you, you would dislike!

| Is there a link for the incident which allows us to see it properly . I thought it looked bad on SKY but if it is only a 1 to 2 match charge is obviously not as bad as the SKY team were saying

| Thank you Sky Sports and TIVO slow frame advance... thanks to you two I now know for a fact that...
a) Despite what Leeds say, Rangi had two feet firmly on the ground at the point contact was made.
b) Despite what Leeds say, Hardaker was not at any point unconscious (unless he can move, rub his head, get up and walk off while being unconscious).
c) Despite what Leeds say, both of Rangi's arms were down through the contact. The right arm came up after the impact, not before.
d) Hardaker's tweet following the game (his elbow hit my chin) cannot possibly be right. At best it's mistaken, at worst vindictive.

Very grainy still of the impact here...

Leaping in with both feet off the ground? Raised forearm? You decide...
