| Ryan Brierley never given a chance to play Super League for Cas, however, Steve Nash got a 2 year deal and played a numerous games. It really is a case of not what you know, but who you know. Sickening.

Bit silly comparing a prop to a full back?

[quote="The Reason":3e09qe5x]Hi Andy
The Rugby Football League are in the process of reviewing the video that you are referring to. We do not condone behaviour of this nature and have contacted the player’s employer, Hull F.C., who have confirmed that they are dealing with the incident under their club rules.

Moved to fullback at the request of Millward, played well at both HB & FB...messed around all season being told he will make his debut then a day later gets told he isn't needed.
Very good player, Cas have messed up again.

That's your opinion, of which you are quite entitled to but more than a few on here would say thats worth about as much as the Euro Zone debt crisis!

| OK, this always happens it is like being in opposition in politics, you can say what you like becuase your theories never have to be tested, it is emotional becuase he is local and some of the alleged treatment he received may seem harsh, but known facts:
He is good at Leigh - Anthony Thackray was good at that level too, so is Andy Kain.
Hasn't played for us but we have been desperate - could there be an clue in there too?
I am not emotional about this to be honest, if he sign's for someone top four and plays next season to some effect in SuperLeague, Cas look daft. If that doesn't happen - reasonable decision - exactly the same as the one with Davis.
Wish I had 10% of the lads talent, but then again I am to Rugby League what he is to making Managed Services money I guess!

He's from Lancashire.

Well he keeps being told he is going to be picked then Millward changes his mind overnight.

I think the fact Warrington, Hull & Leeds have all been interested/are interested (apparently) in him shows the potential he has.

| Quote: Wilde 3 "any idea where he is going?'"
Stated at Leigh Fans Forum on Wednesday that he hoped to sign for Leigh next season. He is very popular at Leigh, especially with the kids, with whom he spends ages. Apparently his younger brother has signed for Leigh next season too.
So far, Ryan is our leading try scorer with 21, but has only started 7 games! He makes a habit of coming off the bench and scoring with his first touch - the latest example being last Friday, in the win over Halifax.
There is a problem of where to fit him in to the team - hence his cameo roles from the bench. Paul Rowley (as do most coaches) prefers a play-making scrum half, which Ryan isn't - yet. He has got pace to burn, at Championship level, and full back would seem a good option, but we have a similar player, in Gregg McNally there. Brierley is being used sparingly, against tiring defences, when he has caused havoc, providing he can get into the game.
Personally, I don't think he is anywhere near the 'finished article' and a couple more seasons in the Championship would be beneficial to him.
I would add that the feeling amongst Leigh fans - rightly or wrongly - is that he has been messed about at Castleford, from the point of being called back, and then not used. I guess he's found that particularly unsettling.
In summary, he is a very bright prospect, who can only improve.

How can you say "I think it's fact" followed by "apparently". Which one is it Gronk? Has anyone other than Leigh showed genuine interest in Ryan Brierley? As mdean says, he could be another Matty Dawson, Andy Kain, etc or he could come back to bite us. Personally, I think it'll be the first one.

Academy product locally I guess is a better description - thank you for correction, he cant help not being born on the right side!
Apparent interest - yeah - I am apparently interested in giving up drinking! Talk is a Championship side I am hearing, one where he knows what peg to hang his kit on already.
Not having a pop, just saying.

| Well guys, I've had a bad enough day anyway so I'm not going to mince my words. I am proper P'doff that Ryan will be leaving the club.
As I have expressed before, some are saying...'well he might look good in the Championship but Superleague is a completely different level.' We let me tell you, there are very few in our squad this year who would even get noticed at Championship level, never mind look exceptional like Ryan has.
About 6 weeks ago a pal of Ryans (also from Chorley) told me that this was happening, and that he was about to be 'let go' by Cas and was being messed around.
That leads me on nicely to talk about that clown called Millward!! Only a couple of months ago (and the video blog will still be on the Cas site) he rambles on about how Ryan will be a big feature of our squad next year, he's such a talent etc etc. What a complete tool Millward continues to prove himself to be.
I really do think that he will be one of the biggest talents that the club has ever let slip through their fingers, and I wish him all the best for the future.

This club is an utter shambles.

| getting fed up of players with huge potential leaving the club .......i cant help but think its the aussie influence (i can expand on this opinion if needed).
Also we need some accountability here , who fetched ryan in and thought he was potentially good enough ?
who let him go and clearly thinks he is now not good enough ?
Was it the same person ?
We all use the phrase "comes back to bite us" but where should the book stop when a player is moved on and then makes it elsewhere ........ Greg eden is the other that springs to mind and there must be loads more like this in the past few years.
