UP THE TRIN !!!!:34236.jpg |

| I know you guys hate us but deep down you would rather have us twice a season than quins or crusaders? When we play cas away and at home these are the games i look out for I love the excitement around the place of Wakefield/castleford before the game love the friendly banter love the rivalry we are the only country that punishes traditionlists for playing the sport they love which is traditional to our Citys/towns. The 26th will be a sad day maybe not for you on the outside but deep down it will.
My excitement when quins and crusaders play us is = 0

Don't assume that all Cas fans are the same mate. We don't know what will happen but if one of us does lose their license it will be a very sad day indeed. I agree with you 100% and it won't be the same if one of us isn't in Super League. When we went down, at least we knew it was in our own hands to get back up and only had a year out each time. I know a lot of fans still hold a grudge against Wakey, but having you guys home and away like you said is a game I certainly look out for. Here's wishing the best of luck to us both!

| I for one would certainly rather have Cas and Wakey in SL than Crusaders or Harlequins.

You're wrong. Just because Wakey fans hate Cas, it doesn't mean the majority of Cas fans are anything other than indifferent when it comes to Wakey.

| In an ideal world where SL membership was a matter of fair and open competition I would prefer Cas and Wakey to survive this franchise round. However I believe that the HQ vision accomodates only one one of us from WMDC and all things being equal that would probably be Wakey as the city club. If you go this time you could well be back at our expense in the future wheraeas once we're down we're out for good. Therefore I have to admit that I hope you go into the championship and stay there. I wouldn't patronise any Wakey fan or insult their intelligence by saying otherwise.

| I will never forget the goading by the Wakey fans at the end of the "million pound game" in 2006. Survival of the fittest then and the same now which means times-up for Wakey.
Granted - I would prefer Wakey in SL than Quins but only for the travel/banter.
Change your user name NGBC and I might reconsider.

I think you're absolutely right about the point in bold, and I've heard it said by others who are closely involved with HQ.
My feeling is that one way or the other, they'll get us in and you out, either now or in the the next round of franchises, then apply pressure for a merger, which I'd be happy with, providing we play in red, white & blue at NM and are called Wakefield.
For my money, your continued SL existence stunts our growth - we've got the capacity to develop into a Wigan, Warrington, Leeds kind of club - you haven't, and the sooner everyone accepts that, the better.

That's spiteful to me.

Yes, I can tell how amused you are, by your spittle-flecked response and immediate sig creation. Touch a nerve?
Really though, if you think about it like a grown-up, two WMDC clubs in SL does stunt the growth of one or t'other; it's no surprise that I see it with a WTW bias, but it's hardly the most controversial conclusion to arrive at.

So in that case then, Wakefield AND Featherstone for that matter MUST be holding Cas back because they average a higher attendance and bring in better juniors and without the other 2 clubs there, Cas would be averaging 10k and have ALL the juniors in the area
I mean just look how much the Hull clubs are holding each other back....
