| After that dreadful display last night Terry said the axe will fall on some of the senior players for the cup game, who do you think is for the chop. Hopefully this will mean that Snitch will get a game, how can he not play him in preference to someone who has been to York for most of the last 18 months especially when we are short of experienced props.

| Mcgoldrick, hudson for me. He said the 2 young guys would be back in obviously meaning clarke and thompson. I'd like to see snitch get a go aswell. Only players I thought tried last night were orr, milner and dixon.

| Mathers was good last night, he had a lot to prove.
Cant remember Dixon doing anything except catching 2 high balls.
Snitch Clark and Thompson . I would give Eden another chance he looked good at Rochdale.
It was the attitude that disappointed me, no go forward at all, lethargic. Eistyn harris said the other day that the games a couple of weeks after easter were the ones that found teams out. It certainly found us out. Same for warrington though. They looked mighty impressive last night.
We are missing Youngquest and possibly Isa.

I am sorry but mathers was pathetic last night totally out of position and looked scared to play against his old team. He has been brilliant but last night he was awful like the rest of the team to be honest.

Spot on! With the addition that Ferris played well.
Whilst ever we do not have the firepower in the forwards to dominate the play and gain a good platform for the backs to work from, we need to change our focus to disrupt the opposition. There is nothing quite like getting the opposition on the back foot by either quick plays of the ball or quick attacking runns from dummy half. Neither of which we seem to be doing.n
Wakey, Leeds and Warrington were all able to make quick simple yards by attacking Cas from dummy half. It allowed them to rapidly advance down the field whilst we tried to scramble and patch up the gaping holes in our defence. Exagerated even more by our players racing into quick ineffective cover tackles, which were over enthusiastic, badly timed, making them 'slide by' and barely contact the attacking player.
Huddson made 1 run from dummy half yesterday, other than that he is now way too slow and un-fit to give us an attacking option that this position in the game now demands.
Bring in Clarke, and tell him specifically to run at the opposition from dummy half. Get them on the back foot, and then have quick second phase play.
McGoldrick was too interested in getting involved in cheap shots and niggles with the Warrington players and from a very early stage in the game and completely lost focus on the game. If that's what his experience brings to the team, we don't need it.

| Yes McGoldrick was very weak defensively, Matt King and Atkins pulverised him, he was woeful. mr thinks Thompson will play against the Pussycats.

| I would say from a Wire point of view: McGoldrick and Hudson.

| McGoldrick: did not try to tackle and was stood watchin warrington players. was always running out of the defensive line.
Owen: not being that good for the last couple of weeks. i think if youngquest & isa was fit owen would not be in the squad.
we need Snitch in or promot a prop from the academy.
my line-up would be
1. Mathers
2. Thompson
3. Arundel
4. Dixon
5. Eden
6. Chase
7. Orr
8. Fozzard
9. Milner
10. Snitch
11. Jones
12. Holmes
13. Widders
Bench:-
14. Clark
15. Massey
16. Emmitt
17. Davies

I thought Jones was the stand out effort wise tbh, on both sides of the ball. I'd also say Dicko got stuck in and Deano at least tried to go forward when he came on, but that's about it for me.

Jackson only had a back spasm. Surely he will be able to play won't he?

Don't agree with exclusion of Ferres or the inclusion of Massey who for all his commitment/effort is way out of his depth against SL opposition.....when did anyone last see a prop upended by a single tackler as easily as Westwood dumped him on Friday. Davies at least has a bit more aggression but even as a backrower I worry about his size and Wire looked one game too far for Holmes who has probably been over-exposed after a great start to the season..
It pains me to say this but we look so devoid of attacking options (1 try in 2 games) that we might have to put Goldy on the bench.
I agree Owen is still off the pace but he has looked better coming in from the wing and if fit I would be tempted to put him in the centre to give us a bit of go-forward and some sort of second phase from his offloads. If he isn't fit and we have to play Thompson at least give the lad a go in one of his favoured postions at centre because he never looks confident/comfortable on the wing.
Assuming Jackson/Aspinwall to be available my 19 would go with Mathers,Eden,Owen,Arundel,Dixon,Chase,Orr,Fozzard, Milner,Jackson,Jones,Snitch,Ferres,McGoldrick,Emmitt,
Widders,Clarke,Holmes,Aspinwall. 2 from Widders, Holmes, McGoldrick to drop out.

| I am a Wakefield fan so treat my comments appropriately but trying to be objective I'm not sure you need the wholesale changes.
You are not playing Warrington again. Those players that didn't play well weren't so bad against Wakefield last time out. Obviously there were some issues in second half so that needed fixing.
Problem for Cas is that Warrington were capable of doing that to anyone given chance. I just thought Cas were just out enthused as they like to say these days and it gave them the advantage to use their undoubted skills. Once on a roll and playing with confidence they were playing carefree rugby and chancing their arm.
Cas v Wakefield will be a much closer game.
And back to being a Wakefield fan.......I'd rest your half backs
