www.castigers.com/article.php?id=702

I totally agree with everything in the club statement. My only concern is the quote, "the protests have to stop." A bit dictatorial I feel. I've not vocally protested, nor will I but it is free speech.

I do think any protest should be done in the correct manner and be non threatening and appropriate - if at all, though its certainly not my way. The chants at the Crusaders game were disgraceful though.

We dont need to give the RFL an excuse to get us out, there are already enough.

I dont know if it will happen, but I hope more than anything Cas fans pull together and show reasons why we should be in SL. It would be awesome if we were well supported and the crowd got behind the team despite the team being as awful as it is.

Indeed this could be an extra tick in the box rather than another reason to doubt the clubs SL place

just go's to show how much notice they take, people should make their feelings known in a proper way or vote with their feet. don't understand why anyone would say anything about cas fans pulling together after 2005/2007 anyway sod it better things to spend £18 quid on.

I think the majority of fans agree that there are ways of making your feelings known, without having to resort to abuse of anyone. Pity the club are yet again blaming us fans for this, when many of us have pointed out some of these people as trouble causers in the past and the club has done nothing about them. I can admit that some of our fans don't do their bit for the club and don't act in an appropriate manner. Can the players admit that they aren't putting the effort in, can the coach admit he isn't doing good enough and more importantly can our board for once take some responsibility for there very very poor performance over the last 10 years?

So yeah, most of us respectable fans will be doing our bit (yes i'll be going to support my team again on Sunday) and hopefully some of our more idiotic fans will realise they need to change their approach. We'll all be hoping that the club as a whole is putting in the right kind of effort from this sunday onwards.

I did have to laugh when i saw the picture from that article though. I'll not pinpoint the person, but the club did actually print the right picture for their story. A person on that picture for some very strange reason on sunday, thought that he should target all his abuse, frustrations and bad language at none other than our very own JT (yep, the mascot). I first saw him march to the front to question our mascot on "what the hell is happening at our club" and then 2 minutes later shout all kinds of tripe at him (some nasty stuff too). We do have some numpties among us!

A poem written by Brighton and Hove Albion FC fan Atilla The Stockbroker. Which in some aspects sums up how a number of fans are feeling regarding how OUR club is currently being run under the current regime.

Quote: "It's a symptom of modern society.
When our team's getting stuffed, we complain!
When our history's sold for developers' gold
We protest again and again!

When we're told we're 'half-wits' who 'make trouble
We get angry and filled with suspicion.
'Cos behind talk like that there's quite often a rat
Abusing a hallowed position....

We're no longer just dumb cannon fodder.
We're the fans, it's our club, and we care.
We want participation, not patronisation!
Let us in - we'll do more than our share.

Please don't tell us to 'mind our own business'.
It's our 'business' as much as it's yours!
We've been there since the start, we're the lifeblood, the heart.
Ever played a match behind closed doors?

It's a symptom of modern society.
We supporters have got off our knees!
It's a symptom we're going to encourage -
Until it becomes a disease!'"

A PLEA TO THE FANS FROM WRIGHT AND CO TO BEHAVE THEMSELVES, AND A STICK WITH US FANS FROM THE COACH, EH. I AM ABSOLUTELY FED UP OF THESE PEOPLE WANTING MORE AND MORE OUT OF THE FANS, WE HAVE STUCK WITH THEM AS SOME PEOPLE HAS ALREADY MENTIONED THROUGH THE RELEGATION DEBACLES, ECT. GET CONNED IN TO BUYING SEASON TICKETS AGAIN, THEN KICKED IN THE TEETH WITH POOR SIGNINGS, LET DOWN AGAIN WITH POOR HOME PERFORMANCES AND NOT MUCH BETTER AWAY. THE AMOUNT OF TIMES WE HAVE BEEN IN GAMES UP TO HALF TIME AND ENDED UP GETTING THUMPED IN THE SECOND HALF IS A JOKE. WE BEGIN THE NEW SEASON WITH STABILITY, MOST OF LAST SEASONS SQUAD PLUS A COUPLE MORE RECRUITS TO SUPPOSEDLY STRENGTHEN US UP FRONT, ADMITTEDLY WE ARE GETTING SOME DISRUPTION WITH INJURIES AND SO ON, BUT A LOT OF THE PERFORMANCES HAVE BEEN NATIONAL LEAGUE STANDARD. YOU HAVE ONLY GOT TO LOOK AT THE CRUSADERS, WHO WE WERE LUCKY TO BEAT AT HOME, THEY HAD VERY LITTLE TIME TOGETHER AT THE START OF THE SEASON BUT THEY ARE PLAYING AS THOUGH THEY HAVE BEEN TOGETHER LONGER, FOR ME IT IS DOWN TO BETTER COACHING AND RECRUITMENT. I FEAR FOR US YET AGAIN AGAINST SALFORD BECAUSE WE ARE ABSOLUTELY SHOCKING IN THE HALF BACKS, NO ORGANISATION, CRAP KICKING GAME, ETC.

I won't be at the match Sunday, first home match i will have missed in years apart from holidays etc.., i have a season ticket, but refuse to make any effort to go to the game sunday, seeing as the players don't want to make any effort.
Its going to be a nice weekend, im not enjoying it to have it spoiled again between 3:30 and 5:10 on Sunday, hope the team prove me wrong, but i doubt it, it would only paper over the cracks anyway.

We all get very involved and passionate about the club, however I totally agree that abuse is not the way to take matters forward.

The protests however are an entirely different matter!! If waht we are seeing takign place at the club now doesn't jutify protests, then I expect that there never will be a justifiable occasion.

The fans are entitled to express their feelings and show that we can see through the pathetic excuses which TM and RW keep offering us time after time. It is quite insulting to us that they must feel that we can't see through these excuses.....and do note that it may be regarded as a 'reason' when it first happens, however when they fail to correct these problems it turns into an 'excuse'!! The clubs isn't paying these two clown good money for them to keep fobbing us off with excuses, which they seem to be causing!

Let's see what Sunday brings!!

It seems to me that we have a weaker squad than last year, or at least certainly not stronger. Most of the teams around us in the play offs have recruited much better than us or are playing to their potential aka Bradford and Warrington to name a few. We are currently struggling to put anywhere near our starting 17 on the park. We have suffered a series of defeats which have dented the teams confidence.

Most people were predicting that we would finish around 10th or 11th this year, I think we will still finish around 10th or 11th this year, once we have somewhere near our starting 17 to pick from, we have won a game or two and some confidence starts to return we will become more competitive again. What did you think finishing 10th or 11th was going to look like? Winning every week? That would see us finishing in the play off's, and as most people agreed at the beggining of the season it didnt look like we had a good enough or big enough squad to do that this year.

I've been watching Cas for 20+ years and this is not the worst Cas team that I have seen, also we cant be relegated this year so there is no need to panic. I do think that we have far too many players who would'nt get a contract from another super league club and as such arent good enough. No amount of coaching is going to turn some of them into super league quality. Yes this year is not going to be much fun, we are not going to get anywhere near winning anything, but as players return and confidence rises, we will get more competitive and we will see some entertaining matches.

I think there are far too many people with completely unrealistic ideas about what we can achieve this season. Take a breath and have a look at the facts, it isnt the end of the world, what we need to do is to dramatically improve our recruitment next season. Give ourselves a chance of making the top eight and everyone will be happy again, simples.

Is this is the start of the club preparing the ground for, and distancing themselves from, our increasingly likely expulsion from SL. I'm sure by the time our license application gets the thumbs down the BOD/CEO will have found a way to blame someone else for all the failed criteria. They're even dodging the issue of our lamentable playing record by saying 'victories have been hard to come by' (as if they are a rare commodity only available to a fortunate few rather than something achievable by those who plan well, work hard and spend wisely).
