| When the inevitable happens and Rangi goes to Salford, that will free up (according to rumours) over £130K, maybe more if transfer fee involved.
Who do you think we should buy. ? Do you think one quality Aussie to replace him, or maybe 3 or 4 good English players.?
I personally think 3 good players, obviously a stand off, a quality second row forward who can bust tackles, and a centre.

| I would hope a good % age of any transfer fee goes to Mr Calvert & his family. The salary issue is quite separate and there are several good Aussies/NZ ers available for that kind of money.

If Rangi is on £180000 a year at cas and if what I'm led to believe the transfer fee is £250000 thats £430000 cas have saves/made on Rangi leaving, that is going to help you big time for recruitment.

However if you look at the transfer fee as split across two years that's £125k per year for players, which is likely to be really only two players you're able to get.
Personally, I'd get a replacement half for Chase (must) then a loose, prop, centre,

But won't you be saving Chase's salary also?

I see your point but if we go down next year it will end up costing us far more. A silly deal for the club to do imho
Either way Salford have got themselves the best half back in SL.
On topic, I'd ship Ellis out and use the Chase money added with Ellis wages and bring in a quality half back pairing. Not sure who is available and some scouting would be needed but Hull look to have got one decent HB in Miller.... Must be a few in the same mould floating about in OZ.

| I think we have signed Luke Dorn who will probably play FB with Tansey at 6
Then we need to strengthen up in the centres and front row. Chubbs is great but we don't have a real big battering ram - I've been looking into some OOC aussies we could recruit but there's no quality there - if we can attract quality

I'm sorry but if we start our season next year with Dorn and Tansey as our Halves we are in trouble. Very underwhelmed at that prospect.

Can't say I know too much about Sneyd tbh, I was hoping Dorn would be signing as a backup/rotation/sub player.
If the club has got rid of Rangi for what is being said on here next year it's a disgrace... Simple as !!!

Could be Dorn and Stig and Sneyd as back-up.
