Terry Matterson reckons that McGoldrick hit McGuire on the shoulder on the play which gave Leeds the penalty to win the match. He also wasn't very happy with Bentham's performance

Got to say you guys were very unlucky and deserved the win. What do you think about the tackle though?

| To be honest, it is a simple matter of if you get that decision, it is right and if it goes against you it is harsh.
I think if Danny Orr had gone through and been tackled like that, I would have thought it was a penalty, if not a little harsh for the entire game to be defined and decided on that moment, the game deserved a better conclusion to be honest.
I felt in the ground that quite a few 50/50's went against us, but on television it seemed more reasonable.

I haven't seen it again

| Time was that if first contact was round the shoulder you could get away with doing more or less what you liked thereafter. These days, if you end up round the neck you're going to get penalised every time. Looked a definite penalty at first view, slow-mo suggests it probably glanced off the shoulder, but it was, in the end, a grab round the neck and would get the same penalty every week. Ref had no option IMO.

| Whatver the ifs and buts of the decision, no game should be decided on golden point.
The RFL seriously need to look into deciding cup games, without a replay.
FWIW Cas had their chance of glory at the end of the 80 minutes, and blew it with the poor panic attempt at drop goal.
I can't see it happening, but 'Yorkshire' folk should support a 'Yorkshire' team at Wembley

| I thought mcguire wrong footed mcgoldrick which caused the hand to go high.
Mcguire stepped into the slap unintentional.
Looked a penalty in fast motion, was harsh to end the game that way.

| Just watched it again, having been asked by someone on another thread to watch the last set of normal time again, and I think Terry Matterson should do the same. He never actually touched his shoulder, first and last contact was on the neck, barring that I suppose a forearm may have come down on the top of the shoulder. No malice, just tired technique and desperation. It was a clear penalty though and it would have taken a very poor ref to miss it.

Well said. Whoever receives the kcik off gets a massive advantage. It should be 10 minutes, and who evers winning after that is the winner, if scores still tied, play another 10 minutes.
On the tackle, i thought Mcgiore certainly deserved an oscar. It was minimal contact with the fingers around the neck. More a grab. As many ahve said, if it's your team, definte penalty, if it's against you, its very harsh. Sickener for Cas.
I thought Bentham was woeful yesterday though. Not ebcause he gave one side everything. But because he didn't have a clue what was happening. Then sort of made a guess. Was nice to see a touch judge do something yesterday though.

| I'd have to say it was a penalty too. Looked pretty bad at normal speed but on the replay it was clear that McGuire stepped inside and wrongfooted Goldy who just stuck an arm out. As said above, not malicious but worthy of a penalty.
We should reflect more on the fact that after defending so well we let Sinfield then McGuire make good breaks in quick succession which ultimately led to the penalty.

| The games over and we aren't in the final, but in future i think a better way to decide the outcome of a draw should be thought about. I'm not a fan of the golden point or should i say first team to get a drop goal or penalty. A golden try would be better.

| it was a penalty no too ways about it,mcguire stepped him and although their was no malice it was high.i havent watched the game again and dont intend to but i thought their were one or two 50/50 calls that didnt go our way whilst in live play but i maybe wrong.
we had our chance to kill off leeds but didnt and they took their chance,it was a bitter pill to swallow but life goes on and you can only learn from such things and hopefully the younger players will take heart in the fact that leeds were no better than us despite having so many key players missing.

| Bentham was pretty much average all game and didn't seem to favor either side from what I saw. No doubt it was a penalty for the McGoldrick high shot

| Golden point is too much of a coin flip for such an important game.
Should be golden try and if no try then whoever is ahead after 10mins then another 10min if still same.
If that was the rule yesterday what would you do if you were Kevin Sinfield, choose to go for goal to edge infront incase match lasts 10mins or go for a try?

| Personally I'd go back to the old system of 10 mins each way extra time and if there's no winner after that, then go to golden point. TBH I think Leeds would have won yesterday using that system - looked to have more energy left and were making more ground upfield than we were.
