| But would like to 'finish his career' at the club...
Quote: YEP "Former Leeds Rhinos forward Chris Feather is poised to leave Castleford Tigers at the end of the season, after being asked to take a pay cut.
Feather – who has also played for Wakefield Trinity Wildcats and Bradford Bulls – is now considering a move to Australia's elite NRL.'"

| It makes me wonder what we've offered to Rangi with all this talk of cost-cutting lately. Higgins and Wainwright having allegedly accepted very low offers, Boyle apparently not being offered a great deal to stay.
As for Feather, I like him, think he performed well early on in the season but for the second half of the season he just hasn't been at the same level.
I certainly wouldn't be offering him anymore than he was on.

| Tight gets we have on the board. They screwed Adrian Vowles over as well.

| Can't blame him. If we had room for him in the cap this year why do we not have room in it next year? Gates are up (slightly) and the cost to get in has risen way above inflation. All the best teams in superleague have
1. A good back up hooker
2. An impact prop they can bring on after 15 minutes.
Looks like we are losing both of these by not signing Feather or Netherton.
I hope this season isnt the peak of the 3 year licence!

I must admit though, the clubs ability to negotation contracts does at times leave a lot to be desired.

At the end of the day the BOD will only pay a player what they think he is worth and we don't know all the alternative options they have are.

St John Ellis …
Without entering into the pros and cons of the contract negotiations with Chris Feather, the board sometimes gives the impression that they once heard an ethnic stereotype about tight Yorkshiremen and decided that they need to live up to it
