| with regard to attracting dormant/new fans to the ground next sunday, wouldn't it be a good idea to update the advertising board near to the singing chocker. this suggests the next match is against salford aug 2013

| I've seen the Goons twice this year (Giants and WCC) and neither time looked overly impressive. Reports also saying they didn't look look that good vs Wakey too. No idea how it'll go on the day, but I'd be surprised if Cas were anything less than confident (apart from worrying about Bowen's forearm maybe).

| Don't be fooled, this game isn't a given for us. Cas away is usually tough for Wigan, especially with the close, noisy home support. And if it does turn out to be a close game, goal kicking could let us down, where as you seem to have an excellent kicker in Mark Sneyd. I bet Nobles kicking his own letting him go out on loan

| It's usually tough for us at your place.
Yesterday was an odd one. Wakey scored 24 points but hardly applied any sustained pressure on the Wigan line. Three or maybe all four of their tries came from Wigan being in possession and getting sloppy with Wakey intercepting or picking up a loose ball and going 80 mtrs.
SW knows it's tough and will be training the house down.
Wigan will probably have Pettybourne back along with Dudson, Charnley, Gouding and Sarginson. No one's too sure about Bowen, Hampshire was good at fb but whether he'd be risked I don't know.

bit of disharmony in the camp???
We have a good chance sunday going by form and how solid as a unit we seem

According to some wigan weren't world beaters yesterday v wakefield.
There defence let in 24 points, we can score for fun.
All down to our defence, keep it tight as we have done, cas by 8/10 points.
Also we will have the barmy army in full voice, that's worth 10 points.
Lets do it.'"
Don't forget they had a lot of players missing when they played Wakey.
They have the team to be world champions but fluffed it on the big stage.
If we can hold our defence like we have been doing I think we will run them close but we have to have a good kicking game

| I really look forward to Cas away, one of my favourite away grounds. You manage to generate twice the atmosphere with half the attendance of the DW stadium. It is usually a tight game as well.
I don't think that Shaun Wane will underestimate Cas and we are likely to have a stronger team for this one than the Wakey game when McIlorum only played 25 minutes and O'Loughlin only did a half, plus we were without Bowen (though it is a hot topic of debate whether he is good enough any longer - maybe Sunday will provide the answer?).
There were some good signs against Wakey and we played well in parts, but we will need to do better on Sunday. I think you are right to be optimistic. Clark will be key. McIlorum is under rated by opposition fans but he regularly nullifies opposition hookers like he did in the Grand Final.
Can't wait - just hope it gets a bit warmer for Matty!!!

| Looking forward to this one, I always look forward to trips to Cas as it's one of very few old fashioned rugby grounds left in SL. Of course there is Wakey and Bradford as well but they have too much open space to generate a good atmosphere IMO. You guys are in good form so hopefully will give us a game as you did around this time last year.
As for how I expect us to shape up: We let in four soft tries v Wakey - two barge overs, 1 intercept and 1 ball steal, all but one of them were scored after the game was over as a contest (30-6 with McIlorum and O'Loughlin both going off) other than that we restricted them to low metres and hammered them in attack all game without ever really getting out of 2nd gear. I would hope that we will be less complacent against you guys given that you've started the season by fairly easily dispatching three mid-table teams. I'll go a very nervy 18-14 to us with Matty Smith only kicking 1 from 4, you guys to lead 12-0 at half time

I also foresee Bowen receiving his first bit of stick approx 10 minutes before kick off after failing to score during the warm up

| Must say, as a Wigan fan and I'm sure speaking for many other Wigan fans we won't be the most confident this weekend. Shaun wane is really rotating the squad around to get everyone fresh since the WCC. I never feel confident playing you lot away, it was a cracking game last year. You lot look impressive this season though, you could definitely do us this weekend, I'm not sure what to expect from us.
