| No problem with this signing, with the best will in the world that we have got the contract right based on appearances and conduct. Unlike say Webster where his contract is not conditional and he is unjured more than me!
I KNOW the Castleford public will treat the guy accordingly, this is one of the situations where those watching on can actually make a difference to something on the field. We have had players at Cas before, emotional players who you can boo out of a game and WE have done that to our own.
I am not saying we have to over praise, but we know what we can do.
On his game, he can play 10 years as a first choice half in a serious NRL outfit, so I am going to focus on that. There are about 5 or 6 people in the world where if you signed them to replace Rangi Chase, you wouldn't be thinking you had lost something, so we were always going to need to change.
As an alternate view, MAYBE: Rangi Chase was amazing and Man of Steel for one season, sulked and was patchy in another and was good this season, but not Dream Team good or MOS contender good. Rangi hasn't got a single full top flight season in the NRL and is only here becuase he couldn't depose the likes of Brett Seymour.
Appreciate time passes, things change and form changes, but there are always ways to see it being half full, as opposed to half empty. I like those people with something to prove and who have a hunger to put things right it tends to make them more dangerous and apply more honest effort. Granted, sometimes it goes wrong, but I think in this case, it is worth a shot.

| he would arguably get better money playing 2nd grade "at home" though than for Cas.

| Quote: easthullwesty "I've see seymour take teams apart and on his day there's no denying he has the quality. Give him the support he needs and you have yourself a very good player. Just to pick up on one post which says "Seymour is a quality player and had a bad time at hull and his problems went unnoticed by those who seen him everyday says a lot really". As anyone who has lived or known someone suffering from depression, it can be incredibly hard to pick up as sufferers often act completely rational when in company. Brett got an awful lot of support from Hull when his condition was diagnosed and I know that I speak for all of the when I say that I hope he has a blinder next year. Good luck Brett, Good luck Cas. Here's hoping you're in super league in 2015.'"
You'll do for me.

| Happy to see him given a chance, felt awful for the guy when it came out about the depression etc. One year deal is a good move, immediately playing to impress for a new contract not that he wont have enough he wants to prove to everybody. Good luck Brett

No but squeeze a piece of coal hard enough and it will turn into a diamond.
Give the guy a chance, worked with Tansey.
