Doesn't please me to say it, but I called this 2 or 3 games and I doubt we will appeal. I can't see what the grounds for appeal are. Precedent is not a defense sadly, it is sport not court.

There was head contact, regardless of how that came about and as such there should be a hearing.

Having had previous tackling technique questions shall we say, then there was unlikely to be a "no action".

I am a Cas Fan, from Cas, the player protection agenda is dearest to RL hearts at the moment, it has nothing to do with anti-cas or hearing prejudiced I am afraid. It was unlucky regarding the contact point, previous record is considered and it had to be dealt with on video becuase there was not action in the game. If he had been sanctioned in the game, then an extra penalty is not necesary.

Good gets what he deserves. Contact made with the head of an opponent.

I am not too blinkered to blindly defend players from Leeds if they carry out dangerous plays.

He hasn't got banned for his high tackle on Daryl Clark which was penalised in the game and was deliberate.

No complaints I don't think, Chase went for the big hit and made contact with the head. Without his previous record, he may have escaped a ban.
My only problem is that there does seem to have been an element of 'trial by media', coaches and players in partuicular need to be prevented from discussing incidents before a verdict is reached. Not much can be done to stop journalists commenting though.
And I don't think Hardaker did himself any favours by claiming Chase had led with the elbow, to then change his mind when the RFL charge was contact made by the shoulder.
Anyway, we are without our star player for two games, but we are two points ahead of where I thought we would be!

Class B offence is a 1 to 2 game ban. The RFL deemed it was not with intent so can't be upgraded to a higher catagory offence without making themselves look stupid.

We would be mad not to appeal.
