In some cases there just seems to be a lack of desire, a lack of pride in the shirt and no real urgency to improve. I think we have to remember that this isn't Millward's team and there's only so much he can do with it before he's able to conduct his own recruitment. If that performance on Saturday wasn't an eyeopener, then I dread to think what it'll take to give them a kick up the backside.

We needed to run the game down the middle where our Pack would've been able to build a platform and dominate, but we tried to throw the ball about and started making mistakes which came back to bite us.
The discipline was poor partially through frustration I think but Featherstone slowed the game to a crawl at times, to their advantage, and were allowed to do it. It's a bug bear of mine that Cas are easily sucked into a scrappy game and generally can't rise above it - it doesn't match our style of play. It's unfortunate that the slow ruck is rife in the game at the moment and little seems to be being done to prevent it.
I thought the tens were very short too and when things like grapple tackles on our players result in penalties against us because frustrated players react to the initial incident being overlooked, well I think in that circumstance any team's discipline would be bad. I'm not taking anything away from Featherstone, or denying that we were embarassingly bad, but Thaler had a complete shocker. They suspended Alibert for allowing a try on tackle 7 the other week - there are some referees who are guilty of far worse mistakes yet are still being given top games in subsequent weeks.
