I think you are right, most if not all were plain clothed and wore no colours. But from what I saw, the fans that did get chucked out were plucked from the Wakey side of the line. Plus the fact many of them were hissing and spitting at the Cas fans as they were being dragged out.

| Quote Homer_J_Simpson="Homer_J_Simpson"From what I saw, it was 6 and two 3s, although admittedly, the only projectiles that I saw head for the pitch appeared to come from Wakey "fans".
You have to question the sanity of scheduling the fixture on the evening of Good Friday, when plenty of morons (from both sides) will have been on the razz all day.
IMHO, it was bound to end in some sort of disturbance.
I also question whether alcohol should be sold in and around any stadium, sober people tend not to act like complete tools (although I accept that there are always exceptions)'"
I understand what you are saying, however bank holiday derby games have been going on since the year dot. This one wasn't a one off brain wave. IMO the Wakey crowd segregation statement from earlier in the week poured extra fuel on the fire!

| Wakey couldn't control the crowd. Missiles hitting Cas players and officials. Fine coming up for Wakey.

You're probably right, I read about that earlier today and agree that it was incredibly poorly handled.
I'm sure I saw a couple of bobbies with cameras, so hopefully those responsible will be found and banned for life.
Wakey probably deserve some sort of sanction from the RFL too, crowd control was their responsibility.

| Managed to escape alive - OK - that's an exaggeration but tonight is the first time I've witnessed such hooliganism. There's no other way to describe it.
To the lad that stood in front of me goading the Cas fans, effing and jeffing every sentence only to move up the 'divisive' line and towards the singing Cas fans, to the bottle throwers - congratulations. You've brought shame on both clubs. I didn't see who threw the first one but bottles were thrown from both parts.
However, from where I was stood the group of Wakefield fans next to the stewards spent more of the game singing at the Cas fans and shoving towards them antagonistically rather than watching their team play. I'm not saying that this wasn't the same for the Cas fans but from my angle, the majority of the singing Barmy Army Cas fans were sensible and focused on the game.

| Shouldn't really matter if the Wakey board poured fuel on the fire or not, people just need to grow up and not spoil it for everyone else! Doesn't matter if it was Cas or Wakey fans, the whole world has a blame culture nowadays and people need to be responsible for themselves, unfortunately there are always a few tools who can't even manage that!

+1
I guess that this is kind of why we are segregating next week, we know we've got a few tools (although a good number of them were banned for life after the disgraceful events following the NRC semi v 'fax last year) and we are desparate for this event to be a complete success.

| luckily away from the trouble in the seated area but I could see this coming a mile off.
both clubs haven't done their self justice, pre match Wakey in trying to build up support and Cas in thinking that they was going to be penned into a corner
both sets of supporters fueled up with late kick off what else would you expect
sad day for rugby
we was well out played on the pitch if that mattered
