It will be a Community Stadium where Wakefield will be the tennants and also available to cas if they do not get on with GH or something goes belly up there.
Just remind me how long has GH been going on now with no build in sight? was it 2005 or 2006.'"
This is the bit I still dont get TBH, so if Wakey RL arent paying for it who is? Yorkcourt are going to build it all 12 to 15 million pounds of it, for free out of the goodness of their hearts for the benefit of Wakefield community.
The question still remains, who is actually paying for it? Yorkcourt are developers, they borrow money from the bank/investors, build said development for less than they sell them for, pay back bank/investors capital plus interest, and keep the profits. Where in all this does the cost of the stadium come from? Are Wakey RL going to pay enough rent to cover the cost of the stadium, I very much doubt they could afford those kind of repayments.
So who pays for it? I dont buy for a minute that Yorkcourt will spread the cost of the stadium over all the other developments theyre building on the site. I mean look at it this way, you want to buy an industrial unit to build widget X in, you could get one for 1 million at Normanton/Feath industrial estate, which is literally 5 mins down the M62, or you can buy one at Stanley for 1.2 million, which one are you going to buy
Doesnt stack up if you ask me, somebody has to borrow 15 million quid, then give it back with interest once the stadium is finished, who pays?
