Morrison and Southern will be good for the younger players. Very experienced at the top level. Ryan Tongia could be promising. Ali is an impact player, fifteen minutes at the end of each half. He could be effective if there are some quick backs to get onto his off-loads. If there aren't, then he won't be. Peter Fox was good. Young enough to be good again. Just maybe having a poor season.

I would probably swap your pack for ours, you can muscle up with the better sides, but it's what the coach does with them that matters. Neither of us know who our coach will be, and that appointment will determine how we both fare beyond any pack-measuring contests.

His career stats like playing in an NRL grand final, being Dally M Second Rower of the year, playing in 5 grand finals, winning 4, and 2 WCC, 19 caps for NZ, winning a tri nations and playing in a World Cup final. I mean thats a decent return but he is no Brett Ferres is he

NRL grand final was ALL his doing, not the other members of the squad
How many years ago was he second rower of the year? Yes he USED to be good but how good is he NOW?
Winning all those trophies again, all down to him nobody else in the squads was it?

And no point using Ferres as a name with me - I think he's vastly over rated and a poor player with a terrible rugby brain.

He is. He isnt as good as he was but he is a natural gamebreaker and we will struggle to replace him. It is a commonly held belief of Leeds fans he is Leeds greatest ever overseas player.
I think you have missed the fairly obvious logic that bad players arent in a position to win that many trophies, and bad players certainly dont win Tri-nations or play in WC finals. Ali was a massive influence in all the trophies he won at Leeds.

Ali, is still better at what he does than any of the 2nd rowers at Cas. In fact possibly only Solomona could challenge him in the league. His impact and offloading ability is 2nd to none and i dont think it is controversial to say he has a fairly decent claim to being the best 2nd rower he have seen in SL. Yes he is getting on a bit, and getting him on the field is a bit of of a problem but he still offers something which is as rare as rocking horse poop. I expect if we didnt have a salary cap he would have been kept on at Leeds

Come back on here pal when you have signed players like Sam Thaiday or Paul Gallen.......... then you can say we have made "FANTASTIC SIGNINGS". Good look with who you sign, but I couldn't give a t**s who you sign to be honest, especially when you are making out that they are world beaters!!. We did that in 2004 by buying over the hill players that other Super League teams didn't want and look where that got us. I would be happy with 2 new signings to compliment what we already have and to ensure the younsters are coming through (which we have proved for the last few seasons). It's OK telling us who you have signed, wait until the promising youth players start to go AGAIN!!!
