| Cas fans will always have passion. When the fans are in we make the best atmosphere in the league, the crowd get behind the team and sing win/lose or draw. If you dont travel across to wigan on wednesday, get down on sunday in what is now surely a must win game for us, lose and we could be out of the play offs, so lets get behind the lads!

I don't want to knock your support or passion for our club, and I know your intent is good, but don't start a dick measuring competition on who is the best fan because all you'll do is divide the fans. The WRE has always struggled to attract a few more fanatical vocal fans, often because some of the more vocal fans often think they are the only ones who are real fans. There are lots of fans who go home and away taking the whole family spending thousands on season tickets, shirts, mugs and the lot but they have never stepped foot in the WRE. We then see a teenager who's parents bought him a £40 season ticket and who's gran bought him a £40 shirt tell those other fans they're not doing their bit. Of course, you have tried to make the divide and ask the question of fans or supporters. This thread has been and gone before. Everyone has their own way of supporting their team. For some, getting to just a couple of games will be as demanding and they may have had to make more sacrifices than someone else who makes every game. In my opinion, it is time we united the fans rather than look for a divide.'"
Good points Marshy but can I just say I stand in the PS and during our leaner periods it thins quicker than my hair. I only stand there for the view, by and large the company's awful although the atmosphere was better on Friday with all the usual knockers/whingers/whiners having predictably given it a miss.
The gaps towards each side of the WRE were disturbing...can't remember so much empty space in there, even for NL games.
Our reputation for loyalty in numbers is shot.

| Lets put the facts on the table. The attendance on Friday, by Cas supporters/fans, in anticipation of a whallopping by the Wires.....was unusually poor. It was because of this that the WRE wasn't nearly as chocker as normal, leaving spaces for Wire fans to occupy during the 2nd half....at the scoring end of the pitch for their team.
Coming into the WRE in numbers when their team is not playing to score at that end, may be a different matter. In our sport I'd like to think not.....but keeping it real, I can see how some would think it was unnecessarily antagonistic. However, I for one would welcome visiting supporters into WRE as it only enhances the atmosphere......provided that idiots (home & away) don't let their testosterone boil over and remember that it is for atmosphere...not to out muscle each other in any other way.
I for one have had many discussions on this forum with others who have given the their opnion that visiting fans are neither an integral nor important part of the game!! So I'm certainly not now going to discourage them from enhancing the atmosphere. They could have congerred all the way round the ground for me, and I would have got on that conger train!!
The reason many are bickering on here, is because we are not currently winning games, nor do we look like winning either. There's barely a game that we can go into, where we can realistically regard the points as certainty!! Likewise there is a lot of anxiety in the air about the next stage of SL licensing. All of this adds up on the minds of fans/suppoprters!!
......C'mon guys get a grip, get yourselves back on the terraces, because it ain't going to improve matters by climbing back into the woodwork now. If nothing else do it for the youngsters coming through, give them the support and game atmosphere that will help keep them at the club! C'mon Cas!!!!

| Unforunately due to some finanical difficulties, I have only been to a few home games this season, does this make me less of a fan?
I have supported Cas since a nipper and the weekly result can either give me a euphoric rush or a despondent downer. This is a club I love with all my heart and just because I don't have the money to follow them around (I have done in the past) it does not mean I care any less about them than the bloke who goes to every home and away game and buys the merchandise.
As for the WRE mob, some good lads but quite a few idiots who are an embarrassment to the club (Gareth Thomas anyone?), getting beered up and singing does not make you any more passionate to the cause than I.

I would loosely define a fan as someone with a genuine feeling for, or affinity with, something/someone and a supporter as someone who actively contributes to that entity as and when they can. If that works I suppose at the end of the day it's down to the individual's conscience how they classify themselves and not for others to judge them.

Absolutely agree with everything there PA. As a season ticket holder I believe I've managed to get to only 4/5 home games this season due to other commitments, does this make me more or less of a fan/supporter.
Years ago I used to stand in the WRE, it had a great atmosphere, great banter and the likes, not so long ago I decided to go back to the WRE since I didn't have the youngsters with me. My god I felt intimidated at times, and it's not as if I can't handle myself. Not only that but after we'd scored a try I ended up covered in ale. It certainly isn't the same as it used to be.
What doesn't help is the lack of control the stewards seem to have, I'm not condoning them as they have a tough enough job on as it is but somebody need to get a grip of the actions of the minority that are blighting the good name of the club.
