Quote: Pete B "This thing about people being uncomfortable in the second half when the Wire fans moved around bothers me a bit. I do not condone drunken behaviour and I agree that some of our fans are idiots however that stand is the full width of the ground and the Wire fans were congregated tucked away in one corner leaving plenty of room for other fans. Anyone feeling uncomfortable had plenty of terracing available away from the noisy element to move to - I think some peoples sensibilities may alter according to the point they want to make.
I went to the match with my son and heard nothing, from either sets of fans, which made me think he shouldn't be listening to this. I watched a lot of rugby throughout the 80's and 90's when it really was uncomfortable in grounds and Friday was not that sort of atmosphere by a long way.
I wish you good luck with your ground and hope it does for your club what it did for ours.'"
Actually Pete, after half time the wire fans were congregated in both corners! The problems seemed to be around the set of fans in the corner nearest the main stand. I didn't see any issues with those fans congregated over by the princess street stand, where I assume all the drum moved to! From where I was stood it seemed to me that as normal we have some people who can't handle the odd sherbert, I must admit I only noticed the stewards and police seeming to throw out some of our own fans. This was all at the opposite end of the stand where I presume you were standing.
