| I remember seeing him get coathangered early in a cup game against Salford and watching him go off on a stretcher. I was gutted, and although we went on to win the game, it just wasn't the same. He was an inspirational player and how good did it feel on the day we won the RT final in 1994 to hear that he'd just signed an extension to his contract.
Happy days. Great bloke, great player and indeed a legend.

| He used to help out quite a bit when I played at Smawthorne Panthers, he had the weirdest way to hold a dart but was really good at the game.
He was my hero back then and a brilliant bloke

| Tawera Nikau is a truly inspirational figure and hero. What a fantastic role model for young aspiring RL players.

| One of the most emotional moments I have ever witnessed in RL was when he returned to play for Warrington after his wife had committed suicide. A midweek match v Bradford at Valley Parade and the ovation he received from all fans when he came out to warm up brough tears to your eyes.
One tragedy could finish off a lesser man but to have 2 tragedies and still to fight shows the man he truly is.
Would be perfect if timings ever conspired that he returned to the Uk for some reason at the same time as Warrington played Cas and led the teams out onto the field .. Wembley ths year anyone
