Look at the improvement McGuire and Brown made at Wigan & Hull respectively to their British predecessors with largely the same squads! Neither were experienced NRL head coaches so it just goes to show there are good Aussie coaches about who mightn't have been given the chance yet in Oz.

Personally if Matterson does leave at the end of this season I'd be looking for a promising assistant coach from the NRL (unless we can get someone like Steve Foulkes or Wayne Bennett )

Its not that long since the chant was Matteson out by most of the fans on here, and quite a few were wanting Kear, just shows what a few weeks can do, and how fickle some fans can be.
