Kids can play from the age of 6years, but as marshman says most clubs will let them train earlier. Our youngest has just turned 6, but has been joining in since before he was 5.
When i reffed at oulton few weeks ago was amazed at looking at board and who is playing where on what pitch at exactly how many teams they have..they even have stuff like u15s reserves, there set up must be amazing, ref room was massive..and in fact had diffenret room for me and the b team ref, normally if 2 games on we get lumped in same little room.
My young un plays for west bowling and i thought they had a good set up..oulton blows them away.
Having coached in the Pennine league juniors I can say the set up at Brighouse is the best of all out there. Not been to Siddal since new club was finnished thou
The pitches in winter leave alot to be desired at West Bowling but they doo seem to produce great players.
