Although the regeneration that is ongoing/planned should put us back to where we belong as a city.

Im not being harsh mate, its just that due to being on manchester's door step and also one of the biggest industrial areas in britain (trafford park) we simply recieve more revenue from the huge holding companies and manufacturer's who are paying millions a year. Don't get me wrong its not what were doing right and wakefield are doing wrong its simply due to our location we think our selves very lucky.

Location is a great thing and maybe something else we have in common; in a different way however.
Moreover than seeing us gaining economic growth from situation next to a major city I see our growth coming from our location at the intersection of 2 of the biggest motorways (M1 & M62). Hence why Wakefield is moving into making it's name (and economic future) from warehousing and distribution. I think we all know the money (and rates) that this brings in. This is not a new move for our district but one we NEED to continue to grow. From what I've heard Tescos are already planning to move into the area in a big way over the next 2 years- & that came from a friend who is an area manager for Asda!-J30???
