| Quote: tigerman10 "so which part of that is our problem and which part of that has anything to do with us goundsharing. i have read your comments on the wakey page makeing us out to be some small town neighbours who need their big city rivals to survive, but the thing is we are not going around begging people to ground share with us. and as for wakefield getting nothing (now i could be wrong here and this may not have council funding so i appologise in advance if i am) but what about the hepworth museum, the development behind the trainstation, the development on jacobswell lane, the work in the bullring, and all the upgrading work that has been done on westgate, some of that must have had council funding.'"
I may be wrong but didn't wakey sell there ground to the council therefore they've already had help/money.

| Fully, I agree about some fans getting on board with the ground-share idea (I am convinced this is the only way forward). In my case, and that of many others I suspect, it is not because we have "finally faced up to the inevitable", but more because we are just now learning facts about the Wakefield side of things which we were until now lead to believe were all sorted out (funding, for example, which is categorically NOT finalised). The statement by Box simply puts the edge on it - Newmarket cannot compete with Glasshoughton in a feasibility study, which in my opinion is not even required, and is simply to put a veneer of "fairness" on the process (not that I think it is remotely unfair).

I wholeheartedly agree. Waste of money if you ask me. Go down every aspect for a new stadium and GH ticks every box. Location, jobs, potential sponsorship, fanbase opportunities. Everything.

"I can tell you the atmosphere was extraordinary at Wheldon Road on big days. The ground held around 15,000 people, every one of them close to the action on the field and the noise would be enough to send a rumble through the town" - Malcolm Reilly "Reilly - A Life in Rugby League":d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_39793.jpg |
