Like I said on my the coach must go thread, Mcgoldrick is never a full back and its only TM that picks him there. No other coach would play him there.

At Bradford Michael Platt was terrible at FB and got alot of stick from the Fans. Now he is in the centre's the fans have taken to him.

Mcgoldrick was bought as a centre, why not play him there.

Other than the things mentioned. He needs to learn to keep his mouth shut. he is NOT the captain but always seems to think he can just walk up to the ref and give his views, where he promptly is told to get lost (not that he listens!)

Biggest mistake Cas ever made was giving McGoldrick a 4 yr contract extension in 2008.

At the time he was looking quite good playing in an attacking triumvirate with Sherwin & Dorn but since then he's gone backwards. It beggars belief that he was given such a long term contract whilst at the same time the club refused to offer Dorn (our best player in 200icon_cool.gif anything more than a 1 yr extension.

Contracts of such length should only be offered to the most outstanding and preferably young talent that you wish to keep hold of in the face of competition from other clubs and certainly not to players that take up an overseas spot at a time when the allowance is being reduced.

I liked dorn but everyone just remembers the great tries he scored, everyone seems to have forgotten how many tries he let in.

And before anyone says he was better in defence than mcgoldrick, watch a few old games and you will see what i mean.

It's the same for McGoldrick I bet his missed tackles/not even attempting to tackle has cost the team more points then he's been involved in. Not to mention his hospital passes, inability to catch/be in position and organising the defence in front of him, Championship player at best, just like half the squad.
