One for the future ? With a coach that has only recently started using younger players from his own squad this does not look good.

Will be very interesting to see how Sherwin plays for Catalans...will know for sure if he was just past his best or not or if our prize (ie: costly) asset was actually been coached badly.

As for our replacement, hope he can do some good despite his age.

ps: just read that Sherwin is still eligble for Catalans in Cup qurters against Batley as he was injured for us against Barrow (surprise! surprise!)

No dispespect to Batley but think Les Cats will do them with Sherwin in the line up and thus get through to a televised semi game...smart bit of business, shows how to run a club.

As for Sherwin, when we played well, he played well - but when things were not going well, for me he didn't inspire anyone.

Only injury problem I know for sure he had was under his left tit, too small and not in it anymore. Could get a bit of an Indian Summer in France with some old mates, class is permof course.

We're half way through a season. Sherwin isn't on £150k AFAIK, nor near it. Cas will have already paid half of his salary to him. Nowhere near £150k.

Splitting hairs but I am not saying the amounts are the same - but I do believe the 2 events to be related - a large capital outlay for us and the opportunity to recoup some operational expenditure.

The amounts I am not bothered; when my Road Tax is due I might duck out of a night at my local to save money, but that doesn't mean I spend £225 over the bar at my local on a night out does it?

Well, no. I agree. But I think it's a case of people getting 2+2 and getting 5.

It gives us more scope for the rest of the season to strengthen. If a good scrumhalf comes available we'll be in pole position.

Listened to news on radio leeds as it broke, your coach matterson gave impression it was done without his input, i may have misinterprated it but thin my impression is correct.

Pathetic bit of business. We should of kept Sherwin until we had a "proper" replacement sorted.

To be fair a lot of us fans have been saying we ought to see the back of Sherwin anyway.

We're not really in any different position to the 2nd half of last season (or large chunks of this one) when Sherwin was missing through injury. He then came back at the end of the season and had a nightmare in the playoff game.

I'd be very surprised if we manage to secure a decent (by which I mean overseas) replacement for the remainder of this season but at least we know the club are looking for an alternative solution for next year rather than the risk of keeping Sherwin on for one more season.
