Quote: TRB "1 There are no public funds going directly into the scheme.
2 It is a 'Community Stadium', i.e. there will be a trust owning it and running it as they see fit, including the training facilities, all weather pitch and other facilties which are hoped for. Plus - even if public funding were involved, can you not understand the correlation between health and activity? This is a well recognised and much used system - including the famous 'yacht' in Hull!
3 The public have been cosnulted many times - the answer they got was that assistance was needed towards the facilties available to our local rugby league teams. What's wrong with that?
Many apologies to the Cas fans for this ending up a 3-way 'discussion'!
Thanks for a reasoned response rather than assenine name calling and prepubescent cartoons.
I thought Page 19 of the prospectus indicates that public funding does have a role to play. If that is all private fund, so be it.
I do understand the correlation between health and activity. I just think encouraging that activity in local schools / clubs / gyms is more effective than an out of town stadium. If you have contrary evidence i would be keen to see it.
as I have said many times. A wholely privately funded stadium on a brown field site would be most welcome.
