Broken jaw ? Not saying how it happend
Halifax playmaker Gareth Moore will miss Sunday’s Infirmary Cup warm up fixture against Super League neighbours Huddersfield (3.0) with an as yet unspecified facial injury.
Moore, who was expected to form a starting half back partnership with captain Scott Murrell, was ruled out today.
No details have been given over the exact nature of the injury or how it occurred.
“Halifax RLFC can confirm that half-back Gareth Moore will be absent from the squad to face Huddersfield Giants this Sunday due to a facial injury,” read a statement.
“The club are currently awaiting medical reports of the injury.”
Club sources say those medical reports are due in the next 48 hours, with early indications suggesting Moore, who joined Fax from Featherstone in the autumn, could miss the start of the Championship season in early February.
With Moore absent, and another close season signing, Simon Grix, not yet ready to return after long term injury, coach Richard Marshall looks likely to field either Connor Robinson or Ben Johnston alongside Murrell.

| He has upset a number of other players from a different club (Batley). Word is that he got jarred up and then started insulting the wife of one of them, when asked to behave he continued ranting and received a good right hand!! I am told that at least 4 other Batley players will be paying him close attention when we play them.
I've said it before but my view will never change from the fact that he is disruptive and divisive. I accept that others have wiped the slate clean for him and want him to perform well in a Fax shirt, so do I. I also want the squad to be together and give their all for each other. Issues such as this can spoil that ethos.

| Well I wouldn't want Rettie punching me.
On Moore, scrum halves do need some arrogance but it should be left on the pitch, time for him to grow up.

Didn't Rettie miss games for us because of brawling in Leeds ?

| Can't be seen as good news along with Bennion that's 2 down before we have even got onto the field.
On the other hand it should give to other lads vying for that position added incentive to play well enough to keep their place.
On Moore and GB they will have do an Adam Tangata when they are fit and get a chance.

He most certainly did, and for head butting at Batley.

| And who did he headbutt...........
Nice start to his career at a new club.
As has been said though Johnston and Murrell are probably better anyway.

Yes he did TH with facial injuries, it was a separate incident to his head butt against Moore at Batley when Stokes was as much to blame as anyone but that's another story.
Dane Manning as well.
Another recent report in the RL press over a night club incident has a doubt over whether Danny Tickle will play again, it was said there was a concern if he took a significant bang to the head whether it would cause serious damage.

He had an op a couple of weeks back and basically RM said it would put him back a bit at the start of the season and likened it to Adam Tangata who really came through as the season went on after a similar late start.
