With a turnover of close to a million they should be breaking even this season or potentially making a profit with the NRC appearance

big credit to Widnes for publishing this detail (they dont have to) but the figures are worrying;
I'm no expert but Profit and loss is based on income less period related costs. Paying off debts and buying new seats aren't period related costs. |

Basically they brought in 916 K but spent in total 1,892 a loss of 986 K , but 837 K of that was spent on one off type payments/investments leaving a ' real ' loss of 149 K in the 1 st year
Scary to me and you but in the world of pro sport , small potatoes

No he doesn't , he has a share of Stobarts , he sold his company to Stobarts for a reported 30 million
He has spent around a million of that on Widnes last year , but this year he may well break even

Widnes will have good liquidity.
Obvious they will lose on year 1. That will soon be re-couperated.
No championship club get anywhere near a 1m turnover, hence the reaon they are one shoe in. Fax will need to double their gates to get anywhere near this! |

snowy is a leigh fan, he's not trying to get involved in any bickering between widnes and fax and whose dick is the biggest, but merely pointing out that halifax (and any other heartland championship club) have to increase their attendances to widnes' level to even stand a chance of an application to sl to be successful |
