| Another point the board and some on here seem to miss, I have seen mentioned that the style of rugby we played under MC did not bring more fans down the Shay, I would agree with that and although it was great to watch crowds did not noticeably go up. The thing was though it was there, they had a starting base to go on. What do they have now? Even the regulars who go through thick and thin are starting to drop off because the rugby been served up is so boring. How can you try and get new people to go down when even the regulars think its crap?

| I said last season I can cope with boring rugby if it gets results and we can compete. It doesn't and we cant. Its not the boring rugby that gets me though it is an issue, its the fact its not affective.

| On yesterdays showing would having John Kear as coach make any difference, Batley were as bad if not worse and he has seen and done most things in the game.
Just trying to get some perspective into an all round poor affair.

Fair point.I was thinking at 79 mins god that was poor but at least we won
and have 7 points. The late debacle has put a different perspective on everything.

| people who think calland is the answer or think he was the reason for us playing good rugby must of been very blinkered to it all.
martin hall was the man who set this club back on its feet from top to bottom and surged the team towards the right end of the table. when he had other commitments he left his buddy matt in charge who slowly started a decline in any tactic and control of the dressing room. it was only on certain match days where hall turned up to help him out that the team played well and as he had less time to spend at the club the more the team started to struggle under matt then became the calls for a coach who we thought would control the dressing room and sort the defence out.
IMO the club needs to make a call and do it fast as we are declining at a speed that once again meets our last season in SL. im not saying relegation but lack of interest from fans and rugby that makes people not come back needs addressing quick

| Lets not forget also we had a right team then, any player in the backline could create something from nothing. We had speed, you cant coach that and we had some size upfront but you know what we had then too we lack now, nastiness, look at the leigh board and they can see how their pack now bullies others and wont take a backwards step, Nash, Maloney, Gannon to name but a few all went close to the line aggression wise and confrontational wise. This backline we have now is woefully slow apart from Worrincy who even then gets 1 game in 3.
All this chopping and changing of the team I feel is the actions of a coach who is maybe not sure what to do, fact is we don't have the player strength of the Calland era and Rhino is not really a get extra 10% from your players coach.
I agree also that Martin Hall had a massive impact on this club, his rugby contacts alone made him invaluable.

| Minor point perhaps but you would think that the club could at least make the effort to correct the attendance on it's own website. To the uninformed casual observer 300 looks appalling!

I may be wrong but don't the RFL update the site?

| People always seem to forget that the "quality" players in Calland's teams didn't always come to the club as quality players. They were coached up to become those players. For all his failings Calland was a great individual skills coach. Harrison seems to be doing the opposite.

Ross Divorty is a great example.Came as ball playing loose forward and hit great lines from Murrell
at times last year.Seems to have been converted to a prop only this season...what a waste.

| Go through the team and see who has improved.......
Fieldhouse - Bags of talent, scores tries for fun and at one point looked to be about the 2nd best FB in the league behind QLT. Now gets dropped every other week and looks short of confidence.
Worrincy - Bags of talent, scores tries for fun, looked to be up there with the best wingers in the league. Rough around the edges and needs some good coaching to make him the finished article, instead gets dropped every other week and looks short of confidence.
Tyrer - Had a few clubs but clearly has talent but another one who was dropped last season for any little mistake resulting in him looking short of confidence. Has started the season on fire i would assume to Harrisons disappointment having brought in Cowling to replace him.
Heaton - Probably one of a few players who might have improved but has some obvious failings that i feel a good coach would iron out, like a centre who struggles to pass, yes coaching team thats down to you to work on.
Murrell - Looked the best player in the league early last season, like has been said certainly is getting nowhere near that level since his injury last season.
Tonks - Another he seems to have gone stale, yeah he produces every week but I feel he can do a lot better but only giving him 13 minutes isnt enough, he can do more than that.
Ambler - Started well when he came here but seems to be going backwards at a steady pace, consistant again but could be so much better.
Manning - I feel would be the best second row in the comp under a coach who knew how to get the best out of him. At times he is simply awesome and one of a handful of players who i feel with the right coaching could play SL.
Divorty - Has been mentioned but another who has the talent and hasnt kicked on.
Adamson - The penalty machine. Looked quality once he settled but has now turned in to your ten a penny second row.
Theres others I could mention like Johnson who looked a totally different player yesterday to the one at Fev almost as though he had been told not to take on the line. I understand its hard when players are part time but I feel the coaching staff are failing to get the best out of a group of players who with a bit of a push could easily be turned in to a top 2 team.

Yes but do Batley play like that every week?
(Don't know as I don't watch them every week)
