Which one for you Colin?
Need to know so I can stay away.

No spare time for rugby today pal, worked 'til 1pm then had a pile of ironing to do at home icon_wink.gif .

Lads from Greetland went to watch Brighouse but Methley walloped 'em by the sound of things. A few red cards too.

Watched Irish, went down to Wibsey Warriors. A good game, very cold on the moor. Can't see much Rugby this weekend, probably pop round and help Colin with his ironing.

Great win for the Irish at Sharlo yesterday.

I watched the Greetland lads lose 24-14 to Shaw Cross who apparently banged a load of their summer conference lads in 'cos they start in a couple of weeks time but it was a fairly even contest throughout played in good spirit.

Good wins also for the Stags & Siddal but Boothtown were abandoned, i don't know what for though.

What happened to Gingdong's Selby "Warriors" conceding a walkover at top of the table ruffians West Leeds ?

Went on to the moor to watch KCP got there 10 mins late to find no game, decided to pop up to Greetland but the lure of the fish and chips shop on the moor dragged me in, by the time I had finished it was too late. Drove home with all the windows down in case Mrs Halifaxjohn found out.
Did soe gardening in stead.
Watched England v Scotland which is unusual for me, not particularly likinf Union and I must admit I found ten or fifteen minutes quite exciting.
It served to remind me what a loss to Rugby league, the two Farrells, Edwards, Ashton etc.

To be honest I did wonder about a late kickoff, but at 2-15 there wasn't a sole there and judging by the score I might have made the right decision.
Bad news for the player, as I say every time Rugby League is a tough game at any level.
Wish him well.

We had only 12 players available and out of that 12 5 were 16, coach said he wasnt travelling there and putting 16 year old lads through that, the excuses were unreal, from taking girlfriend out to buying a 3 piece settee. The older players let us down the young uns were willing to go. Amazingly its now only Tues and we have 32 available for 2 games this weekend

That's familiar mate, I've heard plenty of cry-off's myself. I noticed your 2nds were postponed too so that's a poor turnout for two teams. It's that time of the year I suppose but in Greetlands' case, they have a local cup semi final scheduled for a week on saturday so I suppose lads want to put their names into the selection process for that game. I can't understand the 3-piece-suite excuse cos DFS have an all year round sale on & the lad who took his girlfriend out, I can understand it if she's a bit of a little cracker to be honest icon_wink.gif

Pathetic turn out but to be fair it was mainly 2nd team lads available, problem now is young people dont see playing rugby as a priority on a Sat unlike my generation if they get a better offer they take it, likewise with injuries they wont play through them like we used to do, they just dont make themselves available, then we have a lot that just dont even let you know if there available or not

Same story at a lot of clubs sadly.

You made a wise decision not to go to West Leeds, we once went there with 11 players for our A team, and we really did scrape that side together. They were unbeaten at top and they were first class pillocks with us. Had 2 lads suffer serious injuries which ended their playing days. Horrible club.

Might be seeing you in a few week over at Selby we're hoping it will be our last away game of season and we're planning on getting a bus over icon_biggrin.gif

I try and see a local game most weekends but, I haven't travelled very far, my main ventures are KCP, Halifax Irish, and if they are not available, once to Queensbury, once to Greetland
So I don't know what the controversary is about West Leeds.
I don't doubt our honourable members, so please let me in on it.

I think the 3 piece suite excuse must be doing the rounds, I think I told you late last season Colin that one of the KCP 1st teamers didn't turn up for that very same reason.
I know to look at me now no one would believe me but, when I played you started looking forward to the next game on a Sunday morning, check the bruise's from yesterday, declare yourself fit for a week at work and think nothing much during that week other than Saturday afternoon. No holidays during the season, I still have a very good friend who's wife dislikes me simply because I declined to be his best man, I had an important game that afternoon. I did go to the wedding, followed by pre meal drinks, but left before the meal. The Lady I was with, who could have become Mr's Halifaxjohn if she had been more understanding, hasn't spoken to me since that day.
They were good times.
