Its not about the 4 days (oh go on then it is), its about the way the game is mis-administered all the time, below superleague. The RFL has absolutely no respect whatsoever for the lower leagues.
I have confidence in the group of players we have and if anyone can do it, no matter how many hurdles the RFL throw in our way, it is this team.
I am fully behind them and I will be there on Sunday supporting as I have for a very long time.

Oh ye I fully agree, its been an absolute shambles concerning the RFL, per usual. If this situation had occurred within Premiership for example, there would have been a huge outcry and it'd have been splatted all over the Sports news.
Majority of things concerning our league are done so unprofessionally. And we're never going to be taken seriously as a League/Sport until these things are ironed out. And under the current RFL body it seems highly unlikely.

| Quote: E.S.O "We want it at the lane, better atmosphere, closer to the pitch, better ground etc, Uni*ted don't want us playing before their game on Saturday so we'll have to play Sunday, you lot are kicking up a fuss cos you want it on Friday night, but at the end of the day if you wanted a say in when the playoff games should be played you should've probably won a few more games earlier on in the season. As it happens I agree that, although it happens week in week out in the regular season, whoever wins out of us two will be at a disadvantage when we play the final eliminator due to the Sunday/Thursday turnaround. Although I have to be honest, I think it'll all be academic anyway as I think Leigh and Featherstone are currently streets ahead of anything else in this league.
Enjoy the game (whenever it may be!)'"
Absolute twaddle !
Aston expects a healthier Halifax following on a sunday afternoon for his club's final chance of any gate income of 2011 season. He wanted friday night, I was talking to him on saturday at some Yorkshire U/18's trials.

They played last weeks on a friday night. But Bramall lane isnt available for them. They should have moved it to Don Valley, even though this is a lifeless place, with difficulty in seeing the players, I would have preferred the additional prep time, for either team following the game.

Aston has history with the gamesmanship at this time of the season, remember Barlow-gate ?
How much of a chance is he giving his own lads of going to Leigh or Fev & winning if they manage to get over us ?
The RFL publicly stated they wished for the ties to be completed before sunday, CLOWNS yet again.

| It's not Sheffield's fault. Times are hard and I would definately want to play on Sunday if I were them. They need to get as much gate money as possible - we all do!
The RFL are to blame. Surely Sky could move to Saturday or Sundays just for the play-offs? Did anyone from the RFL even ask them after it happened last year?

Rich,
Good luck to getting any money out of the shared gate at Sheffield.
When they played Widnes early in the season at Bramall Lane there was 1831 there however in the play-offs last week the attendance was 1029, now I'm sure that there was less Widnes fans than for the league game, but also suspect that there was more Sheffield fans. The week before that there was 1147 for the York game. so if you assume that there is about a core of 1000 Sheffield fans plus say 300 Widnes fans (and likely to have been more) plus a few for the play-off game you'd have thought a gate of 1500-1600 would have been more realistic.
When they played you earlier in the season there was 1280 in attendance, and I'm guessing you'll take more to this play-off game than you did to the league game, and I'm sure that there will be more Sheffield fans than that game plus one or two neutrals at the game so you might expect a crowd of say 1600-1800, so I'll guess at a gate of 1031. and after the hire of Bramall Lane I can't see you getting much out of the shared gate.
To me all shared gate games (not just Sheffield) seem to have "smugged" gates which I think is a shame to be honest.
Anyway good luck to Halifax against the de-dars, and even though I do have a slight soft spot for Sheffield due to the fact that I work in the steel city, I'd like to see fax win since I like to see all the "traditional" clubs do well. And as I told MM earlier in the season I still fully expect to see a Fev v Fax final since fate has a way of sorting things out that way and sticking two fingers up at you!

The ticket office on John Street will be open from 1.45 on Sunday, please buy your tickets early to avoid missing the action. There are pubs around the ground, The Moor, 10 minutes walk away, offers shopping and coffee shops.
