Well seen as you asked I was referring to your location as I thought you were someone I know (and still do) based down there also follows Fax who commutes each weekend, but carry on.

Back on topic: Its hard to be a success with local youngsters as anyone with talent will get snapped up by super league clubs, yes we might get the odd one or two if we are lucky. People arent prepared to wait years for success, they want it now, I certainly wouldnt be happy with mid-table mediocre.

There has to be a balance obviously but I know I would enjoy watching a group of local lads run out in blue and white for us and carrying on winning trophies and taking us back to SL..

Exactly and we can tell you it aint easy, but if you make a few finals and get into SL with a long term plan... is it worth a few average league seasons?

The Widnes situation is strange one IMO. If Fax were to invest in local young players I would still hope for a few decent "other" players to fill the gaps and have the young ones learn from. Widnes have a decent youth but a lot of rubbish around them (not a dig by way) and I feel if I was a Widnes fan I would feel slightly cheated by the BOD over the past couple years. It's that balance which is hard I guess..

I agree to a certain extent, but we can do this in steps like we seem to be doing and still maintain a decent position within the league.

No need to take a drastic step and completely wipe clean the team sheet, too many risks would come of it. I do like what Widnes did, granted it hasn't worked for them . But again if we follow their example, but taking smaller steps with it, and I can see it suceeding.

It's a hard ow to gage I mean start of season on paper and NRC group stage, you'd say we had a very strong side. You have to remember for most of the year without Webster, Kohe, Haggerty & Pickersgill! Are main issue was squad players not first team and that's the balance issue!

Can we have a 'sticky' for recording 'comings', 'goings' and 'stayings' as and when they are made official, so that we can all keep tabs on where Fax are up to player-wise for 2011?
