In all seriousness, what about this?
[i"Halifax players threatened strike action over unpaid wages in April 1990. The club sold Neil James for £20,000 to pay wages but were still in financial trouble including an unpaid tax bill of £70,000. Halifax went into the hands of receivers, £760,000 in debt, a take-over bid having failed after the players refused to take a pay cut. The club was re-formed and the assets were purchased by the Marsland/Gartland consortium of local businessmen."[/i
If the club was reformed in 1990 doesn't that only make it 23 years old? In the same way that FCHT are 5 years old.

In all seriousness, you are an cretin.
Why did we keep the same name? Could it be that we were never liquidated? Unlike the soccer team.

| According to Tony Collins (RL Historian and RFL Archivist)
Quote: "Of all the clubs currently playing rugby league, Bradford were the first to be founded in 1863 (actually one interesting point is that they were formed well before the RFU was founded in 1871).
I know some people argue that they went bust in 1964 or that the majority of the original club went over to soccer in 1907 and became Bradford Park Avenue, but there was/is a living continuity in terms of club administrators, players and supporters. Huddersfield were founded the following year and Hull FC in 1865.
It’s important that we celebrate the history of our clubs - when the 2013 World Cup takes place it will mark 150 years of rugby league history. These clubs are older than the vast majority of clubs playing any football code around the world. It’s a great opportunity for the game as a whole. '"
Our first game at Thrum Hall was against Hull FC in 1886. The current clubs that were part of the forming of the Northern Union were formed as follows. Searched the web for the info and is as follows
BRADFORD (1863) Was formed as Bradford Football club but only played Rugby
LEEDS (1873) Started out as Leeds St.Johns but probably formed from a merger of sports clubs
ROCHDALE (1871) On the 20th of April 1871, the directors of Rochdale Wasps, Rochdale United and Rochdale Football Club met at the Roebuck Hotel in the town centre to form a senior team that would represent the town.
WIGAN (1872)
WAKEFIELD (1873)
HALIFAX (1873)
ST.HELENS (19th November 1873)
WIDNES (1875)
OLDHAM (1876) though it missed a season when the Bears went bust.
HUDDERSFIELD (187icon_cool.gif Was a cricket club in 1864, that added football and rugby at a later date (187icon_cool.gif
LEIGH (187icon_cool.gif
WARRINGTON (1879) Unclear when exactly as a team was playing from 1873, but officially 1879 as Warrington Zingari.
BATLEY (1880)
HUNSLET (1883) Again another team that has question marks about its existence since 1883!

| No, the rugby club was taken over with its assets. A new "Legal"company was formed but was still classed as the original club. When a new board comes in it doesnt mean its a new club.
Your shower of SHTT disappeared legally and had no assets to take over- i.e Ground, Players Contracts, Staff etc. There was no continuation of the old club in any form.

Funny you say that, as the FA consider FCHT a continuation of HTFC, but yet don't with the like of Chester and Darlington. The rugby board re-formed the club. If you have tiered cake and the top tiers are all knocked off, when you add the ne layers it isn't the same cake.

If that was the case cretin, why did you get relegated 3 divisions? If they considered you the same club you would have taken your old position wouldn't you?

Because the FA ruling states just as much, other wise clubs would do the same every year to avoid repayment of any debts. The same happened with Rangers. I'm assuming the reason Fax weren't relegated 3 divisions is because there aren't 3 divisions to be relegated down to?

Your silly little club was liquidated, it died, it was no more. Thats why you had to start again much lower down the leagues. FC Halifax aren't them same club. Different crest, different history. Unfortunately they still have the same idiot fans where the majority of them have huge chips in both shoulders. You don't need to submit a freedom of information act to know that.

What the hell are you on about the reason it is a club called FC Halifax Town is because the old club went bust and the new club could NOT be called Halifax Town and the new club were put in Unibond North.
You really are an obsessed person coming on here a thread about Halifax RLFC being 140 years old, sad git go away you numpty.

Nope, because rules are rules, and I'm sure you're well aware of that. By your logic every team who changes crest is a different club then?
