Yes - but we'll have to strip their skulls of the metal Woolly Bully chips they had inserted by Mr Caisley. Our club doctor will then perform a short Symbiotic Psychosis test to make sure they're fit to return to the Shay Stadium.

| I made sure I was on hand to greet my B*ll Fan neighbours on their return from Odsal yesterday, but I didn't expect them home at 4.30.
Apparently they left the game after 65 minutes. To their credit though, their car is still a shrine to Bullman and his cronies....but for how long?
Apparently you can tell they are having a poor time of it, as there are no longer any queues for the bouncy castles!.
I did point them in the direction of the Shay on Thursday night, but then again they know exactly where it is!!

| yet even more bad news for the Bulls, only (i know.. only!) 14,554 there yesterday for the derby match against Leeds, about 8-10k down on what they used to get for that game. Remember when they made a big deal about them setting the SL record during these games in the past....

| didnt see that one, but thought Terry Albert called the "knock on" by JJB correct, it touched his hand, Maguire stopped the ball from hitting the ground, therefore it's a knock on. God knows what Stevo was on about (for a change!)

I agree. I called it as it happened, and then had an argument with my old boy about it.
I was referring to when Webb was stood in the Bulls line at a Leeds ptb, and then backed up the break to give the final pass to Burrow to score. The try was ruled out because Webb was offside at the ptb and made no attempt to get onside before his team-mates passed him. I'm not sure on the ruling for this.

Webb does this a lot, he follows the plays right up the middle waiting for a break (well Tony Rea pointed this out on Boots n All last year) He's very effective at it. Shaun Edwards made a career of it! even when there used to be a rule that the attacking side had to be 5m behind the play the ball.

Keith Senior is an adept at it. Although, KS usually stands next to the markers and not in the defensive line.

Ironic then that Keith Senior was supporting that play but gave up when he say Webb was in support, if Senior had taken the pass the try would have stood.

From the rule book
Retire at play-
(g) players of the side not in possession other than
the-ball the player taking part in the play-the-ball and the
acting half back are out of play if they fail to retire
ten (10) metres from the point at which the ball is
played or to their own goal lines. Players of the
side in possession other than the player taking
part in the play-the-ball and the acting halfback
must retire behind their players involved in the
play-the-ball or to their own goal line.
(h) having retired the distance prescribed in the
preceding paragraph no player of the team not in
possession may advance until the ball has
cleared the ruck. A player who is out of play may
again take part in the game when the advantage
gained by not retiring has been lost.
“Out of Play” as 3. Players who are out of play at a play-the-ball (Section 11), a opposed to “off side” scrum (Section 12), a kick off or drop-out (Section 8 ) a penalty kick (Section 13) or a free kick (Section 13) are not
put “on side” in the manner described in para 3 above. (See
appropriate Sections).

| I remember the end of the Thrum Hall Era, the year we competed against the 3 aussie club teams, we played Bradford up there, there were about 20 people waiting for the 514 bus to MIXENDEN after the game

Ditto.
RE Webb offside, I thought it was blatantly obvious why the try was disallowed, I didn't spot it at the game but when I watched it back he was obviously offside and it isn't as was described on SLS a "hardly known rule". If you know Rugby League you should know the rule.

| Not enough credit is given to the officials sometimes. At least they allowed play on and see how it developed, well done to them.

IMO He's one of the best is Ian Smith, always talks to the players and lets the game flow, the polar opposite of new-age Cummings Clones like Child, Laughton etc.
He could have been giving forward passes and offsides all day as from where I was stood both teams were playing very close to the line and more often than not, past that line, but as we moan about, we aren't paying to watch referees blow their whistles, the obvious ones he got right ie// Hall's disallowed try (although he did miss the forward pass for JJB's try).

| Smith for me is a top Ref who doesnt make many mistakes. He is not a Showman like Ganson and he just gets on with it. Off the field he is a gentleman as well and is willing to chat to people and has done a lot to help amateur rugby league in various places. Keep up the good work Ian
