Yes we don't want DR but we are over £500K down on teams we are playing against next season so how do you compete with that???'"
We are down massively because we stuffed up last season.
What happens if we take KR players on DR and then have to face them in the middle 8, will we then have to start reassembling our side without them at a crucial point of the season.
Fundamentally though if the SL clubs didn't sign all these players they obviously don't seem to need then better players would be available to the Champ sides for less money therefore we should have better rugby and a better competition.

And there within lies the problem JD. You enter into a DR tie-up & your club no longer has 100% control over team selection.
I voted NO.

| Voted No as really don't like dual reg.
But trust the BOD to do what they feel is in the best interests of the club. As in my humble opinion a very difficult decision to make.

| NO from me - dislike DR and the sorry mess that Batley got themselves into says it all for me. If we can't compete as Halifax then I would rather not bother.

| As I understand what Richard said was, yes he felt Fax could benefit from DR but he would look more towards loan signings which could be season long with the SL club paying the wages of the player, thus Fax would benefit without the cost. It was also pointed out that Fev probably would not have finished 2nd without their loan players. I also note some of the posters were not at the Night. Lets not prejudge the issue.

| Marshall made a case that he'd do whats right for the team, he doesn't want to be dicated to over who he should choose in his starting 13.
He also basically said that Warrington took the p**s out of Swinton, Marlon Billy kept quiet about this issue but i'm sure he too has an opinion.
Neil Arber gave a passionate response, but rightly said that if its a season long loan then that wouldn't quite be viewed as DR by many.
Last thing we want is players turning up for one game to get fit, perhaps we should team up with Hull KR or Wakey to make sure we don't get the likes of Briers or Morley!

On the bolded bit I got the impression he meant it was used the correct way at Swinton with him using examples of how Morley was used and players like Briers and Bridge.

| I have always been against dual reg because I felt it was another instance of super league taking over the game and always having the control over the clubs below.
I would be really against us going dual reg if it meant the super league club telling us who we played in our team.
I did think that Richard also wouldnt want this and he said not to think of it as dual reg but as loan signings.
we have in the past benefited from loan signings such as Flanagan from Wigan and Kopzcack from Bradford and Jacob Fairbank from Huddersfield and I think something along those lines would be fine if the players are with us for a decent period .
I thought Richard came across really well on Thursday and I for one cannot wait for the new season to start and I think the board have made a great decision with the new coach (jury still out on Poskitt though)

I agree with all of that. The only thing is though, DR is DR and the loan system is the loan system. Totally different things. Jubble Rooms, Sowerby Bridge. OMB Boneshaker 4.1% Mmm!

| Quality loan signing for the season including the play offs, if we get into that top four, ok by me. Two match wonder getting fitness back, then off back to the SL club looks a disaster waiting to happen. Also let's see how are current squad goes before we start panicking about DR. That Easter period we will need some help playing London, Bradford and then a potential banana skin at Hunslet.

Why be surprised?
As I said it's a none event, how many voted for the shirt?
As for deciding which way I voted, go back to my origional post!
Expand the choice and I might, just might vote.
I prefer to wait and see what happens, after all worrying about tomorrow spoils today, and I never spoil today.
Life is too brilliant.

Black Backgrounds/Animal.gif My Humble Opinion Only - let the knockers begin.
Part quote from The Beggars Littany by John Taylor circa 16C

| In my humble opinion, this is a two way thing, D/R could give us bite where and when we need it. How many times have we heard the coach say "it's hard to plan for a game when you don't know who the opposition are playing?" I like other don't want to see 'Fax dictated to by other teams getting players fit only to take them back, on the flip side if D/R is used correctly and as has been mentioned like a loan we have used the 'short term loan' ie 3 or 4 weeks to our advantage, we even loaned players out to get them fit, only to recall when we needed them. a final point of 'loanee or D/R does it disrupt the dressing room, or players whose place is taken, it would pee me off if I was in or out depending on who wants a game. Give the BOD and the Coach some credit to operate the club to the best advantage for HRLFC.
