Expansion does work if you do it properly and build it up properly as a local club and do things over decades not months! A good example is Hemel Stags who OWN their own ground, develop RL in EVERY school in the town and have a lottery that makes them a fortune and where they have a strong setup both in and outside of schools hemelstags.com/. The RFL and others seem to believe throwing millions into a club that has no foundation or stability (Crusaders, Bradford, London, Paris SG etc) is the way to go. The fact that this has in virtually every case shown to be poor management and business decision is ignored by Wood, Rimmer and co. They want to avoid all the hard work that builds clubs up and just get people playing anywhere and everywhere with no real thought to how to do this properly. I have seen first hand how the RFL people want things regarding development of RL in Europe. They want Internationals but are missing thefact that what is far more important things like proper development and how to sustain that come before playing stupid meaningless Internationals. Its the same at virtually any level the RFL are involved in. Our game is a mess and a minority sport because of mainly the people running it since year dot and the selfishness of people. Forget Union being the problem the problem lies within our game
