Sam Hopkins was no.13 against you. We have lost Bibey this season, as he was forced to retire. We have now lost the equally experienced prop, Rob Parker for the year. Jimmy Taylor has hardly played all year for us and we have now lost Hopkins for the season. In addition, Duffy has missed lots of games through injury. You could have got a very good side out of all the Leigh players missing last night, that I saw in the crowd. It is just part and parcel of the game really and we all just have to get on with it I suppose.

Big blow for you guys, he has to be the number 1 second row in the Championship for me.'"

No word from the club, no mention in the courier?
Could you have heard wrong?

I had a corperate place at the CC Final yesterday and when walking up Wembly Way there was a group of a few Fax fans with connections to the club.

The direct question was asked to one of the group.
Has Dane Manning broken his jaw.

The answer was a straight "Yes".
No further details or comment about the injury just a yes.

I didn't expect anything because I didn't ask the question but I heard the reply.

I was simply answering halifaxjohn who wondered with having no official statement from the club whether the original poster had heard wrong.
I used the term "being close to the club" as opposed to "---" to avoid any problems for someone if it was not supposed to be released at this time.

The emphasis on the "yes" because it was the truth without putting words in someones mouth and merely to show that there was no comment on such things as.

How it happned.
How serious it was.
Estimated time out etc.

Is that okay and clear enough?

No.

I wouldn't think that a physiotherapist could possibly give a timescale for a broken jaw to recover somehow icon_biggrin.gifOH:
If i'd been in that group of people i'd have told you all a few porkies to see if it made it onto the messageboards ( not for the 1st time ) icon_lol.gif

I wouldn't think that a --------------could possibly give a timescale for a broken jaw to recover somehow
Timescales in a sporting context are measured in how it affects the rest of the campaign or carreer and not in days, weeks, months etc and anyone close to the club would have known that information.

The how,why how long etc is a natural piece of info that others would like to know about.
That's why KH has included it in his statement.

How would it look if he said well we don't know how it happened, how bad it is or how long he will be out for.

As I said I did not ask the question, did not know the question was going to be asked or who was being asked untill after the event and was not concerned with the answer either way, it was either true or not true and because of the "porky factor" that you have mentioned.

That's why I was carefull with what I posted.
If the boards were only to be used for 100% nailed on factual truth then there would be about 2 posts every decade and no one would be on them.

Who cares anyway things always come out eventually.
In this case the original rumour was correct and the club has verified the circumstances and the implications.

The lad has broken his jaw and I wish him all the best he's been a stand out all season and will be missed but we will have to go with what we have.
