| What is the cap? I think the standard is £300k but isn't there an allowance for £400k if your income can support it?
Plus, as someone said on another thread - there's probably not many options for players to go elsewhere in the current climate so they'll all be on much less than we think perhaps.

No. That's completely wrong. You wouldn't be trolling by any chance would you? Enjoy your "promotion" party on the Stobart pitch this weekend. Not exactly hallowed turf is it? I wouldn't graze a donkey on it - unlike Widnes have been doing for the last four years.

| I'm that worried about us breaking the salary cap for the 2012 season I've been walking around with a black arm-band due to the imminent death of a once proud Club through mis-guided spending and the resulting liquidation that will occur.
Thoughts and prayers are with the friends and family of the shareholders and volunteers at this saddest of times.

| Not at all, we've also signed Warringtons accountant.
Ratu, Black, Greenwood, Clayton, Nash would all have been on a reasonable wage and they are no longer on the payroll.

| We're signing "very good" players but not "super stars" ........ Roonie and Cadic must have broken Barrow's back not to mention having to pay their players "a premium" to travel up there. And I bet Leigh spent "over the odds" on the likes of Robbie Paul .... errr, sorry, Robbie Hunter-Paul, not to mention their coach Ian Millward! To me we're signing a well balanced squad.

Not been announced, just assumed by most.

Our BOD will be spending money we have.
They will not be budgeting for possibilities, i.e Finals.
Any extra income, again finals, play offs will be a bonus.
I also understand that extra income from finals is usually eaten up in players bonuses.

| Think there could be a few new faces waiting on the tables in Roger Harveys coffee shop/restaurant in town perhaps?

When the RFL talk about expansion perhaps they mean sponsors restaurants

| The last accounts for Halifax RL for year ended 30/11/2010 again shows that the club "broke even" ..... quite literally. Exactly NIL profit/loss. The same as the year before. The accounts don't give much away because they're abbreviated. But you can figure out the profit / loss by simply looking at the balance sheet. It only costs a quid to have a look on Companies House website.
Strange ..... no matter how well we do we always break even. Maybe an anonymous sponsor / benefactor is "plugging the gaps"?.

| Without Widnes in the league, Leigh in financial trouble, and no one quite knowing the situation at Barrow, there's probably not as much money available to players as there has been in recent years.
Some may be lost from the Pro game, opting to earn a better wage with a "Day Job",
How many clubs next season are in a decent position to offer good money? and with more and more contracts seemingly been incentive based, players need to be looking at signing where they're more likely to win more games than they're gonna lose.
