It's an absolute farce and todays decision does not change my opinion in the slightest. I'm all for expansion, but they should have to start at the bottom and work their way up.'"
I agree at least with promotion and relegation we all knew where we stood.
Can anyone honestly say what they need to do to go up right now and even if they could would they be prepared to put money on it not changing within the 3 year run up to the next set.
if it is to franchise then it must be out in the open, clearly set and not altered within that period.
if after the period any club or clubs meet the criteria they shoud be allowed to go up and not be excluded by limiting the number of teams in Super League which is the case at the moment.
You could work your nuts of for 3 years tick every box and stil not get in to SL.
As you righlty say no other sport in the world would allow this to happen.

yorkshire champions u16 siddal
yorkshire champions u18 siddal
national cup semi final u16 king cross park (missed out on a last play try)
national school champs last 2 years brooksbank u15s ( in final again this year)
national school final this year brooksbank year 7s.
every single one of these players is from halifax.
players snapped up by bradford bulls in u16s this year alone- 6 (of which i know)
halifax players playing for england at u16s- 4, one of which captained the team.
many more players have signed at other teams, mainly from siddal and king cross park amateur clubs, siddal being arguably the best amateur team in the country(open age)

Well, that sounds brilliant. So what's the excuse/reason that Fax can't/won't run a scholarship?? That sounds crazy.

Well that is just the point . As far as I know we did and the RFL made us give it up as they said only Widnes in the Champ could run one. Then we lose ground for not having one and people wonder why we are feeling cheated

Simple..... Cost!!
Widnes ran a scholarship and ploughed £1million quid in to run it I believe!! SL clubs get sky money. As the club can't run a FT scholarship we do what we can with the service area etc. But money along with a FT environment wins every time!! Do you not think we'd like to keep our burgeoning young local talent?? However you raise it as an argument I'm pretty certain Sheffields scholarship is not the same as a SL scheme and is backed by funding / grants as still seen as a development area! If the Eagles ever tick a box they'd shoot to the top of the pile!!

On the money avaiable you can only do so many things and Fax had to spend most of the funds avaiable on other things and don't forget the RFL set the criteria and told Fax what they had to do and the order in which to do it.
Now through volentary donations, sponsered walks etc from and by the fan base £20.000 pound out of the £25.000 needed to run the under 23's has been raised and the rest will follow.
The hard times that the RFL will readily mention as a reason for stadiums not being built applies just as much elsewhere.
Bricks cost just as much as boots.

Yes a good one too and now they will turn their attention to the stadium partly because they have a passionate supporter that will put some of his own money in and get some outside help.
Again though they may become a feeder club, sometimes they will be reimberesed as with Zac but sometimes maybe not.
I have a bad feeling that is what is on the RFL'd agenda as they say there are not enough home grown players in SL.
Without him though would it happen.
I hope the stadium gets done it will bring a breath of fresh air and maybe get the crowds back up, that will be another big test to get through that 2,500 requirment was carefully set to keep the championship clubs where they were and before you mention the 95,000 we had against Batley it's being implicated the RFL made the suggestion on getting round it.
fev have just done it the other way round without the RFL getting involved,

| Look we have NOTHING against Wakey, in fact I have a soft spot as they are the ugly ducklings of SL proving its not all a big city slickers and corporate land sport.
BUT
Wakey got into SL with false promises of getting Belle Vue sorted out when they got promoted, come on Dewsbury and Hunslet were refused becuase of their grounds so was that fair?
Wakey are now staying in SL on the same promise with pie in the skie plans for a new stadium still being thrown around.
Yet we have got our house in order and our reward is?
Sorry we won't let you in this time but the door is still ajar so try again you might be lucky next time.

31007_1580947500.jpg EVENTUALLY, WE'LL WIN SOMETHING, ,MAYBE, IF I'M STILL ALIVE THEN:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_31007.jpg |

| One poster came on our board last night and stated with some degree of certainty that we were safe (Atilla). Not a Wakey fan, but he seemed unusually certain. Tonight, he has stated, and was the first person to say it, that there were Super League applications that were deemed not as good as ours. Don't know who he is, but he seemed to be in the know.
So the suggestion appears to be that it is not Wakey that has cost you your place but a different club. Arguably, Crusaders got the RFL off the hook, because they would have to have dropped a surprise club to keep Wakey in, and one who is perhaps doing much better on the pitch.
If what I'm hearing is correct from people I trust are reliable, if Crusaders had not pulled out, it would not have been us anyway.
The RFL made a rod for their own backs by saying that someone would definitely go down. I reckon they might look at expanding if the current grade C clubs fulfil their undertakings.

I think the media didn't help Wakey at all, everyone had you as dead certs but guess what they were all WRONG and inspite of everything that the club has gone through your IN.
Enjoy the moment mate and all the best for next year and beyond it had nothin to do with Wakey fans.

Fev are in the same league as the super league U18s and are doing very well 7th position. The club fund it by raising money through events all year round, it costs around 100k the other teams get it paid for them which makes the millions wasted on Crusaders even more disgraceful

That begs the question "why don't Fax do the same?" (and any other aspiring Championship clubs).
Fax can't just say "if we were in SL we would have juniors". They have to demonstrate they can be sustainable.
Reports suggest that their application failed to do that in any way - hence no licence.
I would suggest that the reason Fax didn't get a licence lies a lot closer to the Shay than Red Hall. Will Steele hold his hands up for the shoddy application???

| Unofficial, but reliable.
Should something released this week, I would hope. I would normally have expected the info released to be very low key and "unblaming", but I don't think Lewis will have any inclination to protect Steele after today's outbursts.
Time will tell, eh?
