Quote tommy="tommy"What 'whole world' is this? Having watched the sky+ play back 'as live', there's no Halifax fans being dragged off.
There appears to be no photos of Halifax fans being dragged off from a number of sources, but plenty of Fev fans.
There appears to be no eye-witness accounts of Halifax fans being dragged off other than the Fev story tellers, but people saw Fev fans being dragged off.
You're free to stop talking e whenever you like. At the moment you're just embarrassing yourself.'"
Looks like this is getting out of hand.
My account of the day.
I remember all Halifax fans looked in good spirits before the game. I remember been intimidated by different groups of Fev fans before the game who looked intent on causing trouble. I remember the police been called to a couple of pubs to calm them down.
The fire started in our stand, i havnt bothered to read the ins and outs of it but it obviously wasnt started the minute Rovers took the lead, thats just ridiculous. Who is to blam i have no idea. I remember us getting evacuated and a bunch of Fev fans charging down the centre of their stand to try and get on the pitch, this can be seen on the Sky replay. I remember a Fev fan assaulting a female police officer and getting dragged off once we were on the pitch and numurous Fev fans getting pushed back in to their stand by the stewards. I didnt see any intimidating tactics by Fax fans but i stood near the goal posts and only heard them singing to the Fev fans.
In the second half i saw one Fax fan been dragged out after having been pepper sprayed. I then saw numurous Fax fans run on to the pitch at the end and one of them been pinned down and then dragged of by a number of Stewards or police.
Then walking back to the coaches a Fax fan is attacked in a cowardly act and is left fighting for his life by Fev fans.
People should stop taking the holier than thou thinking. Both parties caused some trouble to some degree. Featherstone fans were by far the worst but lets not turn a blind eye to the Fact that some Fax fans were no angels either.
It was a great day on the Rugby front but in my eyes a very sad day when people cant go to a rugby match without feeling safe. The RFL should pull out all the stops next season to remind people that this is a family sport, friendly banter is acceptable and welcomed but violence and intimidation should be left to the football fans.
